SVNIRTAR offers undergraduate (UG) courses like BPT (Physiotherapy), BOT (Occupational Therapy), BPO (Prosthetics and Orthotics), and BASLP (Speech and Hearing). It also offers postgraduate (PG) courses like MPT, MOT, MPO, and DNB-PMR. To get admission into UG courses, students must appear for a national-level Common Entrance Test (CET), which is conducted every year by either SVNIRTAR or NILD Kolkata. This is a 2 hour online exam in English, with 100 multiple-choice questions and no negative marking.
To apply for UG courses, students must have passed 12th class (Science stream with PCB or PCM) with at least 50% marks for general category and 40% marks for SC/ST/PH students. For PG courses, candidates should have a relevant bachelor’s degree along with internship completion. Admission to PG courses is through another exam called the Postgraduate Entrance Test (PGET), conducted by SVNIRTAR itself.
The admission process is done online. Students need to fill the form, upload scanned copies of documents like photo, signature, thumb impression, and category certificate, and pay the application fee. After this, they download the admit card, appear for the entrance exam, and if they qualify, take part in e-counselling. In counselling, selected candidates need to pay INR 10,000 to lock their seat (this amount is adjusted in the total course fee) and verify their original documents.SVNIRTAR also follows reservation rules set by the Government of India and offers special support to students from backward or underdeveloped states.
