MIT Admission: Interview Process

The admission interviews for undergraduate programs are conducted between October to November for Early Action applicants and December to January for Regular Action applicants. The applicants may either be asked to give a vital interview or in-person depending on agreement with the Education counselor. However, an admission interview is not mandatory due to limited availability. 

On average, the interview typically takes around 1 hour to complete. However, the duration may vary depending on the program and may last between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Before the interview, the candidates are advised to prepare in advance and must be aware of what questions can be asked by the Education counselor. Also, it is not mandatory to wear formals during the interview.
