MIT Master of Business Administration Admissions

MIT offers a full-time MBA program for students willing to become leaders in top organizations as well as professionals looking for career growth. The program is offered through the MIT Sloan School of Management.

International students can apply to the MIT MBA program in three rounds along with an extended 2nd round. The admission requirements for MIT Sloan MBA are as follows:

MIT Undergraduate Admission

A total of 57 majors and 59 minors are offered in the undergraduate programs at MIT. Around 60% of the undergraduate students in MIT participate in undergraduate research opportunities every year. MIT Admission: Interview Process

The admission interviews for undergraduate programs are conducted between October to November for Early Action applicants and December to January for Regular Action applicants. The applicants may either be asked to give a vital interview or in-person depending on agreement with the Education counselor. However, an admission interview is not mandatory due to limited availability. 

On average, the interview typically takes around 1 hour to complete. However, the duration may vary depending on the program and may last between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Before the interview, the candidates are advised to prepare in advance and must be aware of what questions can be asked by the Education counselor. Also, it is not mandatory to wear formals during the interview.

MIT Admissions Decision

The admission decisions are directly uploaded on the application portal instead of email. MIT admission office may also send a package directly to the applicant's home address. Following are the decisions timeline for international students:

• Early Action- mid December
• Regular Action- mid March.

MIT Admissions: Selection Criteria

MIT follows holistic evaluation process for application. The applications are forwarded to the selection committee where a group of at least 12 people discuss whether the candidate is eligible for admission or not. While the undergraduate selection criteria is based on previous academic performance, the graduate admissions offered on the basis strong academic standings along with work experience, certificates and written samples like SOP, LORs.
