As of now, We have interacted online with the faculty, I found them really friendly, and ready to help. We had certain symposiums, where in We discussed about various industries, I found the faculty revered and full of diverse knowledge. I would know more only after the classes start offline.
Generally a course takes 20 sessions to complete. Each session is 90mins. These sessions are either taken by a single faculty or a group of 2-3 faculties for a single course depending on the course requirement. For example Corporate Finance was taught by the former Risk Head of IDBI Bank.
There were limited number of in-house faculties. Most of the faculty members were visiting faculty but with tons of industry experience. The average age of those faculty members would be 45 years. They shared knowledge about their own industry experience and also gave us case studies based on real life problems.
The faculty is highly experienced. Many have come after working in the industry for many years and thus bring rich practical experience to the classroom. Most of the faculty in the 2nd year are guest who are currently working with big multinationals thus contributing with latest trends in the industry.
The faculty is really good especially the finance professor. All faculties are Phds and has vast experience in their field. Most of them are involved in one or other kind of extensive research. Apart from the regular course, they also allow students to take part in many outside live projects.
At IIM Shillong, you would find faculty with diverse background as well as immense experience of industry as well as teaching. I have taken most of my electives in finance and I can clearly say that finance faculty is very encouraging and they always make
