Because I wanted to pursue biostatistics and it is a govt. Institution. It is affordable and the opportunities are widespread. It's really good for higher studies like Mphil, PhD and projects. The College provides a nice atmosphere for studies.
The duration of the course is of 2 years which is divided into 4 semesters. In these four semesters students would learn both the theoretical and practical aspects of social work which would help them in their professional career.
The course of M.Phil in demography is for a duration of one year. In this one year students have to complete their research what along with their coursework so that they are able to pass the course with good marks.
The curriculum of the Ph.D in Demography course is very detailed and focuses on every aspect of the same. It is also aimed at uplifting the knowledge of the students through practical exposure along with the theoretical part.
The curriculum of the Ph.D in Biostatistics is vast however, a sufficient focus is laid upon only the specialisation that is, Biostatistics. The exam structure is also pretty rigid and takes place on a regular basis throughout the year.
The course is very much updated because it is designed as per UGC Credit Based Choice System by the college. My course duration is two years and it is made to provide a brief knowledge of the population, various socio-economic and environmental factors in the world. The important topics in the course are Demography and History of Population, Mortality, Morbidity and Public Health, Biostatistics & Epidemiology, Economics and Geography, Migration and Urbanization.
The course is very good because it is for two years and a four-semester course. The course has the ability to teach a good level of understanding of Bio-statistics, environmental factors, and various socio-economic. After completing the course a student can clear his doubts in Basics of Human Biology, Basic concepts of Sociology, Psychology and Anthropology, Introduction to Biostatistics & Epidemiology, Demographic Methods, Epidemiological Methods, Historical Demography, Large-scale Sample Surveys.
The course curriculum for the M.Sc course is very vast. It is one of the most sought after courses in population sciences in India and it also one of the best ones. The course and institute is excellent and confirms to global standards.
The course curriculum for the MPS course is extremely vast and I got to learn a lot from IIPS. There is a lot of focus on the research aspect of population sciences and the college also encourages publishing our research.
The course curriculum of this college is very well structured and provide knowledge of all the figure and facts. I got very intelligent and smart after studying the course. The main aim of this institute is to provide the deep knowledge of the contents.
