IKSV Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya offers BPA, BFA and B.Voc in Design at the UG level. The minimum eligibility to apply for these courses is 10+2 from a recognized board.

Admission to BPA, BFA and B.Voc is done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Aptitude Test conducted by the university.

Key Points:

• Upper age limit to apply for UG courses is 26 years as on July 1 at the time of admission.
• BA candidates will have to choose among other minor and language subjects with a major specialization.
• Environment Studies is a compulsory subject for UG students in the first and second year.
• Final admissions shall be subject to verification of documents and completion of admission formalities.

At the PG level, the university offers MA in 8 specializations and MFA in 3 specializations. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in the concerned discipline with minimum 45% taken together in all years and 50% marks in the concerned subject to be eligible for MA.

For MFA, candidates must have a BFA/ BVA degree in the concerned discipline. Admission to MA and MFA is done on the basis of valid score in Aptitude Test by the university.

Key Points:

• Relaxation of 5% for the applicants belonging to SC/ST category will be applicable.
• In case of admissions to MA Theatre, experience certificate should be produced with the application.
• If required, another aptitude test may be conducted and accordingly, dates will be intimated.
• The upper age limit for PG courses is 30 years as on July 1 at the time of admission.

Candidates interested in taking up research studies may apply for courses in M.Phil and Ph.D. Both M.Phil and Ph.D. are offered in 6 specializations.

The eligibility to seek admission to M.Phil and Ph.D. remains Master’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks in aggregate. In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and differently able category minimum, 50% is required.

Admission to Ph.D. is carried through an Entrance Test conducted at the level of university followed by final selection through an interview. The selection of candidates to M.Phil is based on performance in Aptitude Test conducted by the concerned Department of the University.

Key Points:

• UGC/CSIR NET/JRF qualified candidates and SLET/GATE/ teacher fellowship holder or candidates who have passed M. Phil are exempted from entrance test only.
• A candidate with minimum seven years of experience in research or teaching with at least 5 research papers published in standard research journals, is permissible to apply for a Ph.D. degree, even if he/she has not secured 55% marks at Master’s degree but with the minimum second division.
• Application to Ph.D. can be made only in the faculty from which the student has passed the PG degree or eligible examination.

At the research level, IKSV also offers a D.Litt. course to scholars who carry research in the subjects that comply with the general nature of the university. Scholars who have acquired a Ph.D degree in the concerned area of research of minimum five years are eligible to apply.

Selection will be based on the subject of research chosen by the candidate and approval of the university. The university may approve/modify the subject/synopsis or propose a new subject.
