I had offers from VIT and SRM, but I chose Amrita (Coimbatore) because it felt more academically focused and value-driven. The environment was more disciplined, the faculty seemed more involved I did try for IITs and NITs through JEE Mains, but didn’t score high enough. Looking back, I could’ve managed time better during prep. As for admissions, Amrita has its own exam called AEEE, but they also accept JEE Mains scores. It is one of the few colleges that offer aerospace engineering as a course for an undergraduate program. I had applied to other colleges throughout India but none offered the course and/or have excessively large fee structure. I had not gotten into any of the IITs so this is the perfect second option because the standards are the same. I applied to many colleges like Thapar College, Manipal College, VIT, and LPU and others. I got selected from many colleges, but I chose this college because of its ranking as it ranked 4th best university and 1st in the best private university. This was the only reason for the selection. Now it is also the 7th best university in india and 2nd in private universities. I only got rejected from the Manipal College of Engineering, and they didn't mention the reason for the rejection, but I assume the entrance exam was not so good for me. I rejected other colleges because I find Amrita University better than others. There are many ways to get admission, like from JEE mains or advanced and Amrita's own exam, AEEE. Most people give the AEEE for getting admission and the overall experience is quite simple....Read More

I actually got into the university through management seat which is the fourth slot . I didn't get selected through their exams . I was in some 17 k rank . So I didn't make it through the exams . I'm paying 6 lakhs per year . And I think they have some policy of giving Hindus the majority of admission which is somewhat not right . That is the one thing they could improve.
