Course Curriculum Overview

4

So, we read great authors like Mulvey, Kafka, Eliot, Plath, Toni Morisson amongst others. The works provided a deep insight on the working of the world, how brutal and harsh the reality is and how we can overcome these. The course helped the students in the humanitarian understanding of human and emotions which I guess is lacking in today's world. The exams were held after 3-4 months for the semester

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees for one year (that's two semester) in Bhawanipur Education Society College for MA English is 60k approx. No scholarship is provided. but yes, the fee keeps on increasing with the passage of each semester. Although it's not a whooping rise. Maybe 3-5k rise is seen..

Campus Life

4

The campus and social aspects was amazing. The infrastructure was on point. The library had all types of books, so getting access to it was easy. UMANG is the annual festival held here. Different stars come and perform. Kailash Kher, Akshay Kumar, Kartik Aryan amongst others have performed here. The classroom was well furnished with projectors which made it easy for the professors to display their presentations for better understanding. The canteen was very good

Admission

The timing, the faculty and the acceptance the college has is the brownie point. The admission procedure is completely online. And based on merit. Yes, I searched for Shri Shikshayatan college but didn't take admission there as the college timing was too long and felt more like school

Faculty

4

The faculty members were very good and welcoming. They had a very good relationship with their students, be in context of studies or problem solving. TS sir, CD ma'am, GT ma'am and AKB sir were the best professors. The way they taught was quite capturing and interesting. The examination was conducted by The University of Calcutta, and the marking scheme was more or less difficult. Students had to put in lot of jargons to go through the paper in order to pass with flying colours. The course was very significant not only in terms of books and faculty but also relevant for life.

Night Life

5

The college provides 3 different shifts for ug. Morning, afternoon and evening shift. So, during night or say late evening also the area is crowded and completely LIVE. the cafeteria had TV showing the match, the turf where the match was conducted, the sports arena providing different games and activities opportunity. The famous hangout place near our college is Nik Nak, Romania Cafe, Forum mall. The locality is South Calcutta which is very safe even during the night

Presidency University, Master of Arts [MA] (Political Science)
Reviewed on Jan 12, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

This university has a widespread name for generations and so the courses taught here must be for not only students' academic excellence but also for their personality building. My course 'Political Science' has created my kin interest to study the subject in later life and when it comes with the name of Presidency University, it always offers better prospects for students. The faculties are very co-operative, responsible and student friendly except few in our particular department. The faculty-student ratio is 3:50. Most of the faculties believe in teaching in unconventional method, so they organize experimental modes for Internal assessment, exams and teaching courses. However the university has its biggest problem hidden in its untimely routine of completing syllabus and conducting exams or internals. Term exams are conducted just before the exams which is inconvenient, however the exams in our department are not too difficult to pass. The faculties give pass marks to all students.
