Remarks :
To sum up. The College doesn't has a big campus, but the faculty and teaching is good. The College may not be very new and advanced but the atmosphere is very good. I haven't seen or experienced any case of ragging. I would recommend the college for commerce, if you don't get admission at the Delhi University.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course Curriculum is good. It contains theory as well as practical subjects. Also we have Punjabi and History and culture of Punjab as a subject. Plus a student can also take add on courses like computerized accounting etc.
Placement Experience :
The placements from B.Com stream are quite low, and the companies only consider the post-graduation streams for placements. Even the students don't apply for placements as they pursue further studies. Only, selected students have placed anywhere. The placement cell needs a lot of improvement.
College Events :
The College conducts various events throughout the whole year. Some of the main events are Youth Fest, Cultural week and Sports day. Obviously the College celebrates various festivals like Diwali, Lohri etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees structure as compared to others colleges in Chandigarh is abit expensive. I had to pay ?30000 for admission in the college and around ?12000-15000 for one semester. I personally feel that it's too much.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The College has no scholarship programme or Loan Facility available. As I have seen that the students in the College are generally from well to do families and I haven't met any student or person who has availed any scholarship or Loan Facility.
Campus Life :
The infrastructure of the college is average due to the lack of land. But the college is quite huge and provides all the basic and other required amenities. The ground is not as big as it should be, but it's okay. Canteen and laboratory are available. There is also a great auditorium for conducting various functions and events.
Alumni/Alumna :
On my first day in the College, I wasn't aware of my class room. So I asked from one of the senior and he guided me to the class. Although layers I found out that they did it because of elections. But I still feel that the student network of the College is strong.
Admission :
I got admission on the basis of my marks in 12th class. For B.Com you must have around 90% marks (without reservation) to get admission in the college. I got 94% in class 12th and hence my name was declared in the merit list and then my admission was done.
Faculty :
The teachers are very helpful and good natured. However, some teachers of the 1st semester are a little inexperienced, but their teaching methods are very nice and easy to understand. The curriculum set up is not a big burden for students, and even the students from foreign find the studying environment comfortable.
