Remarks :

Negative remarks would be given by me because I did not enjoy my college life. The crowd of this college is not good. The students are not so friendly and the staff is also not so good. The college even lacks facilities for payment of fine. To pay fine of Rs 150 , you have to wait for 3-4 hours due to excess number of payers and only one clerk to attend them.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Bcom curriculum contains very irrelevant concepts and these concepts are very repetitive. The concepts are repeated in different subjects in almost every semester. So the irrelevant material should be deleted

Placement Experience :

Negligible placement opportunities available because with Bcom base , you cannot get a well paying job. You can get only call centre based job (BPO) or field based jobs or Sales jobs. So some kind of course is recommended to be done simultaneously with Bcom

College Events :

Odyssey is annual commerce department fest.. being a govt College there are very less cultural events held in this college. The administration of the college is very rigid and does not promote organising events

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is the only good thing about this college. The fees for one semester is around 11000 and for SC ST students this fees is lower . The fee structure is less as compared to other colleges in Chandigarh

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The scholarships are open only to disabled and SC/ST students . The deserving students don't get scholarships and they suffer. All this is Government work and there cannot be done much to improve the condition

Campus Life :

There is athletic field, football ground ,lawn tennis court, swimming pool, basketball court, badminton court, volleyball court but the authorities don't give entry to swimming pool ,lawn tennis courts, and don't give balls to play

Hostel Facilities :

I can give even negative rating for hostel. Very shabby condition of hostel and worse condition of washrooms in hostel. Three beds in a room built for 2 students.. The hostels are in a very bad condition

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

Senior students were not so protesting. They were only concerned with getting degrees. No responsibility towards esteemed institution of the government and no respect towards it. The alumnus no doubt is progressing and some students are staying in Canada,US etc.

Faculty :

Faculty is also average. Some teachers are very helpful while some treat children as outsiders . Some good teachers teach out of the box things while others don't pay any heed to the children's concern.

My College My Friend

Course Curriculum Overview:

Mainly there are 7 subjects in B.com which change in each semester helping us in learning many things which diversified our knowledge and help us adapt to the changes in the studies in each semester. It prepares us for future in a great way helping us to adapt the changes and be ready for any challenges in future life. Mainly the attendance must be made compulsory and the tests must be made regular for all the students which will definately improve the results. The exams are held in March , May , October and December which are difficult.

A journey worth sharing

Remarks:

I was never interested. I am still eager to leave. This is only because I had different plans, I still have different plans. I really want to pursue them and this is not the life i want to live. All the good things about the college just help my mood being okay about surviving. I have told you what all the college is best at but I am not in need of what the college is best at. I don’t need campus recruitment or any information the course is providing me. This is just not my line. I am still very thankful to each person I’ve met in this college - good/bad for giving my experiences to remember, for helping me shaping my personality better. All happens for good. Currently, I’m not in my zone but this is the only thing that made me realise my zone.
