Course Curriculum Overview

5

My course political science with history is a really good combination. The political science course starts from the very basic of concepts like administration and constitution studies and the history course also begins with ancient india which makes it easier for students of any background to study this course and understand it. The concepts of political theory like feminism and rights really makes us more confident in putting forward our views in the society as we study the great approches of wollstonecraft and others. It really does emphasize the real world issues. The exams are also based on the curriculum specifically with some opinion based questions. The exams are conducted at the end of every semester.

Internships Opportunities

4

Many companies like accenture, deloitte and other marketing companies provide internship opportunities to skilled students. But these opportunities are favoured mostly on bcom or computer science students and there are less options for humanities students which makes it difficult but nonetheless the college seniors provide guidance and opportunities for everyone which helps in getting a good internship for initial years.

Placement Experience

4

The college has its own separate placement cell which provides internship and job opportunities to students in various tech and other companies like accenture, deloitte and wipro. So according to their own skills the students can get selected from the college itself. The cell also conducts various sessions on cv or resume making and seminars with distinguished personels to provide guidance to other students.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am a student of BA programme history with political science and my course fee per year is 31750 rs and there is no additional or hidden charges for any course. Although the examination fee is to be submitted separately which depends on whether your subject is practical or theory. Other than that there is no specific fee that is to be paid. Many scholarship opportunities are provided for students of different categories like sc/st/ews etc.

Campus Life

5

The campus is small but peaceful at that. There is an auditorium, a seminar hall, conference hall and sports complex all of which serves the purpose for various events. There are many societies like dance, music, fashion, poetry and other ngos and organisations which help students in enhancing their skills and taking a leadership role apart from textbook studies. The societies also conduct inter college seminars and competitions which helps them to interact with other college students. Many sports competitions or activities are also conducted for sports enthusiasts and the college also provides admission on eca basis.

Admission

Other that this i applied to other du colleges only but could not make it due to my score. But i don't regret coming to the college as the environment here is better and not toxic which makes it easier to survive college life. For my course the cut off was 722 for general category in the second round. The admission process was fairly simple with just accepting the college and paying the fees it wasn't complicated as such. To apply in this or any other other du college the student needs to give cuet and make a very well preference list.

Faculty

5

The political science faculty is really good and interactive. They like teaching with perspectives as it should be in political science and let us stumulate our brains and put forward our opinion without denouncing it. We have mun sessions and group discussions in class which makes it more exciting. The history department teachers are a bit bore but still good at what they do. The teaching staff is really supportive and teaches at our pace using both hindi and english for students from both medium to understand. Overall the staff is better than most of the north campus colleges.

Interview Experience

4

There was no interview or group discussion for the admission and the only exam revelant to the admission is cuet which is for all the du colleges. The exam is objective based and includes the syllabus of 11 and 12th grade subjects which has to be chosen by the students themselves. The exan is fairly simple if prepared well.

Night Life

5

The north campus of du is a full fledged student area and so is considered safe and secure to mive around at evenings. The area has many cafes, gyms and shops to keep the students entertained and engaged. The area also has parks and gardens which is serene. But most of all the presence of so many students encourage other students to go out more and make new friends which makes them more confident. Many places close up at night but their are libraries and cafes that are open all night as well but the hostel timings are restricted for the safety. Overall the campus area is fun and exciting.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. The exam notes and everything is available at the photocopy shop that's inside the college. Writing this review really made me miss the college more

Placements definitely stands out as passive placement cell of the college is too good. They are quite aggressive and keep attacking us with getting ready for placements. As top corporate house like Big 4 and top Indian conglomerate also comes to our college for placements.

Initially i took this course beacuse i filled it as a backup for coming into delhi university but now i can say that the course is very interesting and it is practically applicable in daily life. Placement Experience:

The college has a placement cell which comes up with lots and lots of internship and job offers throughout the year, you get multiple new job opportunities every week but the campus placement is not all that great, B Com courses have somewhat decent placements. the college doesn't push very much or try much to get students placed, you're on your own.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
