Course Curriculum Overview :
English and Comparative Literature have a multidimensional study structure. It's a comparative study of different genres of literature belonging to different language across the globe. The teaching method is unique and prepares one to see things from a subjective point of view.
Internships Opportunities :

Placement Experience :
Usually the placement cell works great. They update students regularly with new job offers. The package starts from 3 lpa in literature departments. Also there are internship updates we get every now and then.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The semester fee is very low, around 1200/- per semester. There are multiple scholarships including SVMCM scholarship is available. Also, needy students can apply for fees weaver schemes. Scholarships are provided on the basis of merit cum need only.
Campus Life :
There are multiple festivals happen in campus including IBTIDA, Sanskriti etc. The campus offers a liberating and chill environment with lots of art enthusiasm. There are many cultural clubs like Dance, Fashion, Drama, Debate etc.
Admission :
Jadavpur University is one of the most renowned universities in India. I've applied in JNU but couldn't make it there as I didn't have enough preperation. JU conducts entrance exams where the questions are mostly subjective. You have to have 60% in your graduation to apply for admission test in JU. Questions may not seem that difficult if you have a constructive thinking pattern and a good writing habit.
Faculty :
There are many professors who are internationally acclaimed. Their teaching method is unparalleled. The course has four semesters, with each bearing four papers. There will be eight internals in total, for each paper there are two internal assessments. 50 marks each paper. 20 internal and 30 theory or main semester exam. Papers are moderately difficult but if one attends all the classes it won't be a problem.
Night Life :
Campus is really safe and stays open until 11 pm at night as the hostelles come and go. There are no such restrictions. There's a gym, one central library and departmental libraby, multiple cafeterias in the campus. There's a big playground and basketball court.
