Usually the placement cell works great. They update students regularly with new job offers. The package starts from 3 lpa in literature departments. Also there are internship updates we get every now and then.

The semester fee is very low, around 1200/- per semester. There are multiple scholarships including SVMCM scholarship is available. Also, needy students can apply for fees weaver schemes. Scholarships are provided on the basis of merit cum need only.

Campus Life

5

There are multiple festivals happen in campus including IBTIDA, Sanskriti etc. The campus offers a liberating and chill environment with lots of art enthusiasm. There are many cultural clubs like Dance, Fashion, Drama, Debate etc.

Admission

Jadavpur University is one of the most renowned universities in India. I've applied in JNU but couldn't make it there as I didn't have enough preperation. JU conducts entrance exams where the questions are mostly subjective. You have to have 60% in your graduation to apply for admission test in JU. Questions may not seem that difficult if you have a constructive thinking pattern and a good writing habit.

Faculty

5

There are many professors who are internationally acclaimed. Their teaching method is unparalleled. The course has four semesters, with each bearing four papers. There will be eight internals in total, for each paper there are two internal assessments. 50 marks each paper. 20 internal and 30 theory or main semester exam. Papers are moderately difficult but if one attends all the classes it won't be a problem.

Night Life

5

Campus is really safe and stays open until 11 pm at night as the hostelles come and go. There are no such restrictions. There's a gym, one central library and departmental libraby, multiple cafeterias in the campus. There's a big playground and basketball court.

Course Curriculum Overview:

So, we read great authors like Mulvey, Kafka, Eliot, Plath, Toni Morisson amongst others. The works provided a deep insight on the working of the world, how brutal and harsh the reality is and how we can overcome these. The course helped the students in the humanitarian understanding of human and emotions which I guess is lacking in today's world. The exams were held after 3-4 months for the semester

Course Curriculum Overview:

This university has a widespread name for generations and so the courses taught here must be for not only students' academic excellence but also for their personality building. My course 'Political Science' has created my kin interest to study the subject in later life and when it comes with the name of Presidency University, it always offers better prospects for students. The faculties are very co-operative, responsible and student friendly except few in our particular department. The faculty-student ratio is 3:50. Most of the faculties believe in teaching in unconventional method, so they organize experimental modes for Internal assessment, exams and teaching courses. However the university has its biggest problem hidden in its untimely routine of completing syllabus and conducting exams or internals. Term exams are conducted just before the exams which is inconvenient, however the exams in our department are not too difficult to pass. The faculties give pass marks to all students.
