Course Curriculum Overview

5

Curriculum was top-notch. Course as well as supplemetary course were in depth and if you are curious enough, there is a lot of opportunity to learn and grow. Better teaching methods can be taken, that relates with the current generation.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees at my time was around 8K rupees per month. Registration fees, admission fees etc was negligible and process was clear and short. BA courses with no specialization had a lesser fee structure. These were the fee structure while taking the admission in 2019.

Campus Life

4

Social aspect was good on some campus, not that great at others. It depends heavily on the campus structure as well. Campus with common areas and green spaces, encouraged a better social life, participation in different clubs was encouraged.

Admission

wanted to do a hounors course, thing about competitive studies. Although, I ended up in corporate, it was still a good learning experience. Learnt a lot and did internships simultaneously to explore the landscape.

Faculty

4

1:30 approximate ratio. Some teachers were approachable others, not so much. 2 exams per year. It was easy to pass but difficult to score good marks. Overall, if one studies well, they are easily do well.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for the college placements in the 5th sem of the third year. Some of the companies that I remember visited were BluePi Consulting Pvt. Ltd and few other marketing firms. The highest package of my batch was 22 LPA and average package was 4.5 LPA. I don't exactly know the percentage of the students that got placed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’m doing History (Hons) at DCAC. I took this course because I had interest in this particular subject. The syllabus is big and covers Indian and world history. And I am also preparing for UPSC.. from there I came to know that those books which are referred in classrooms are very helpful even for UPSC and the syllabus which we study is very vast which covers indian history and world history . Teachers are good but teaching is old-style, mostly lectures. Not many group works or projects. I feel more field trips, workshops, and interactive classes should happen. Exams come two times – December and May. Papers are long answer type. If you attend class and revise, you can do well. Not too hard. Course is more theory, not much practical.

The NEP 2020 curriculum has increased the workload for the professors as well as for the students. cramming up the syllabus for 7 different subjects is extremely strenuous. improvements could be done to make the syllabus less theoretical and more practical.

Honestly, placement depends upon your skill. Even 1st year student do sit for placement and if your skill matches the vacancy, you are placed. As such there is no criterion for sitting for placement and no barriers of year you belong to.

There are many companies like Bain and Co, Accenture, Salesforce, JP Morgan, DeShaw, McKinsey and Co, HUL, Deutsche Bank etc. The average base pay package is around Rs. 9.3 LPA. The highest one was around 24LPA. The CPC is student run and helps each student with academic and employability processes. Students are reached out to by the CPC from the first year as well, engaging them in various volunteering works. CPC brings internship opportunities for students from their second year, and by third year (Vth Semester) the students become eligible for placements. Students from Economics, Maths and Bsc Programme get the highest number of placements every year. Students from arts course also get, but majority of people turn to other careers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very well defined and comprehensive. The St. Stephen's College is ranked by NIRF as one of the top colleges in India for B.Sc and B.A Hons. in various subjects. The course curriculum changes every few years so that the students are getting the latest knowledge. Exams are held time-to-time in every semester and the difficulty level of exams is not very hard, it's moderate. One thing I do not like is that even after paying such high fees for tuition, we also have to pay 2500-3000rs per exam as exam fees.
