Course Curriculum Overview

5

The reason to choose this curriculum was that simultaneously two disciplines can be understood with indepth knowledge about them. In respect to the hons course that gives you deep knowledge only about a single subject ba program proved to be efficient and it included two subjects as major and minor. With well learned faculty and curriculum well designed to study the contemporary nation and the world I feel that the course is beneficiary to understand the larger geopolitics going on in the world. With subject knowledge and practical understanding I feel that the course helps us to apply everything practically in the real world which will be beneficial for our future occupational endeavours. Also the difficulty level of examinations are moderate hence it is very easy to crack and score good results. Only one drawback is that the readings provided for the curriculum are somewhat so dense that it overshadows the main gist of the matter otherwise everything is good

Placement Experience

4

The Placement Cell of the Campus by its name is Campus Placement cell. It is a student-led body that from its inception has invited the top companies including McKinsey, Accenture, D.E. Shaw, etc. Hence, it provides a competent and high package base for the students in the corporate world. The highest package was 25 LPA. The college within the Cell collaborates with NGOs, wildlife sanctuaries as well as other opportunities for individuals who want to get into the social aspect of corporate space. Students become eligible in their 3rd years when the Campus is bombarded with placement companies with various opportunities

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure of the college is completely affordable, apart from it from time to time the college provides financial assistance to the students from various departments under different national and international scholarships, Alumni scholarship to provide assistance to young talents. The fees charges are less for the PWD students but for the rest its the same and equivalent. Apart from it sumitomo scholarship , Singapore Stephanian merit cum need scholarship etc to provide assistance to students.

Campus Life

5

The campus life of Stephen's is vibrant and is a must lived experience once in a lifetime. The Campus feels an home away from home, as the infrastructure and facilities includes college residence, College mess, recreational areas such as basketball court, football field , sports complex , tennis court, junior common room etc. to provide leisure spaces to students after hectic classes. Apart from it cafe and science dhaba to mitigate the mid break hunger of students. The infrastructure of the college is exceptionally good and inclusive. Separate block ranges for Arts and Science courses incorporating well-equipped lab areas. Each classroom is equipped with sufficient lighting, ACs and fans. It has a common library and a specific library for science courses as well. The college has over 70+ student led societies that provides every student an opportunity to initiate their growth and find their inner selves and interests which will help them in their future endeavours. The campus is lively everyday with events taking place at every corner of the college, including talk sessions , boot camps, case crunch competitions, muns etc that provides opportunities to the students for their holistic growth and development. The college has a well maintained sports complex and well equipped sports facilities that help the young minds to grow simultaneously in academics and in extracurricular activities. Apart from it the music society and the choreography Society of the college provides platform for the students to explore their vibrant inner talents for music and dance. In a nutshell the Campus is vibrant and it is what makes the college a living dream.

Hostel Facilities

5

The college residence is a home away from home. With facilities ranging from college mess to a recreational area known as the junior common room, the residence provides everything that eases the living experience of the students. The residence is divided amongst 6 Blocks, 3 each meant for boys and girls respectively. The infrastructure includes inclusive facilities such as ramps for PwD students and other facilities. The menu included both veg and non veg items and provides evening tea as well apart from it the menu is made in such a way that it provides a variety of food options to the students. The hostel allotment is done on merit and availability basis and it is a must living experience apart from the pg culture where the students miss out their food due to class schedules but here in residence everything is timely available and is fulfilling and satisfactory

Admission

St. Stephen's was my dream college from class 12th, after my boards I full fledged devoted myself for cuet and scored extremely well because of which I am in Stephen's as the cutoff is very high in comparison to other colleges of Delhi University. I applied for a few backup colleges as well and I made my way into them as well as my scores were pretty good in cuet examination but as I got into Stephen's I really didn't bother to look for other colleges. My overall admission procedure was smooth yet straining as I had to appear for Cuet examination only after few months of my boards examination which I felt was quite beneficial as the syllabus was crystal clear hence no extra efforts were put to prepare something different for cuet as the syllabus was the same as 12th class curriculum, as I was already preparing from class 12th hence I had studied my subject in such depth that everything was afresh in my mind, I just have to brush it up. Also as cuet is objective based paper therefore remembering minute details and information is very necessary and important and from being humanities stream the examination and the examiner not only wants to check ur bookish knowledge but also the current knowledge about the country and world hence it is very important to be aware about the current knowledge as well. All these strategies helped me to make my way into what is known as one of the most prestigious institutions of the country that is St. Stephen's

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio is equivalent and well managed, the faculties are well learned and knowledgeable with proficient knowledge in their discipline the faculty does not limit themselves to the syllabus but goes beyond the syllabus to give indepth knowledge to the students for their future endeavours. The faculties are available to students at all times either through physical meets or through online mood but they are readily available to help the students in every aspect of their academics. The examination system is based on semester wise examinations and the exams are easy to crack if you are aware of the subject knowledge, also as the subject curriculum is contemporary and easy to relate it helps the students to easily crack the examination with a 0.1% of failure ratios

Night Life

5

The whole college in the night time as well is scenic to look to and gives immense happiness with students roaming and enjoying their leisure time after dinner, with jamming sessions, talk sessions , recreation in junior common room where students play table tennis and foosball etc. Apart from it the hostel timings are flexible enough and the students can take visitors pass for their relatives or family members for visits to the college. The college is secured by large walls, with efficient cctv cameras securing the whole campus and able security staff. The Campus is in the centre of the North campus, near to Kamala nagar, malkagang, gtb Nagar so their are alot of hangout places nearby for students as well

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. The exam notes and everything is available at the photocopy shop that's inside the college. Writing this review really made me miss the college more

Placements definitely stands out as passive placement cell of the college is too good. They are quite aggressive and keep attacking us with getting ready for placements. As top corporate house like Big 4 and top Indian conglomerate also comes to our college for placements.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral). My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
