Likes
- I liked the culture of the college like how seniors interact with juniors.
- The best things about the college is hostel, you are given a single occupancy room with air conditioner.
Dislikes
- The thing I dislike the most is that the campus is around 24 km far from the main city which takes an hour to reach in the main city.
- There are only two mess in the campus with three floors each but when there is rush it take around 20 min to get the food we have to for a long time in the mess.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is quite relevant. In the first year you will be taught Computer science to electrical to bioengineering. There are non graded courses for you innovation and critical thinking skills. Profs will give you assignments for real world applications . I think they should cut off some non graded courses , and should give students time for other things as well. Quizzes happen almost once in two weeks and midsem is around 2 months from beginning and after 2 months from midsem there is final major exams. The paper is quite difficult but there is relative marking which does not affect your grades that much.
Internships Opportunities :
Many big companies like Google, Microsoft, Adobe come to the campus for recruitments and internships . They give the role of Software Developer, Product Manager , etc. The stipend depends on company to company average stipend is around 96000. I have not available any internship so I do not have any idea about projects.
Placement Experience :
The students become eligible for campus placements after 6th semester . More than 200 companies visits the campus and last year made offer around 400+. The highest package was 52 lakhs and average around 19 lakhs CTC . More than 90 percent of the students get placed during the placement season. My plans are not for job but for higher studies.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For the first semester fees is around 1 lakh 46 thousand . So basically around 3 lakhs per year. For the SC/ST the fees is around 50000 per semester(admission fee, lab fee, development fee are included in it). I am from general so I paid around 1 lakh 46 thousand for the semester and students from the reserved category and ews paid around 50000 per sem There are scholarships for the economic weaker section whose income is less than 1 lakh per year the whole fee of the student is rebated . Whose income is less than 4 lakh per annum 2/3 fee is rebated. And there are scholarships from the private companies as well such as Airtel, reliance, etc.
Campus Life :
There are three major fests and many small fests too. First one is sports fest - Varchas This fest is three days long and many other colleges and IITs take part in this fest. Majorly in the month of October. Second is Tech fest - Prometeo It is in the month of January. Third is Cult fest - Ignus In the month of February . There is a central library in the campus which helps books from the courses and novels and literature too. The classrooms are good with facilities such as projector smart board and all. There is a sports complex for the sports in which you can play badminton , table tennis , squash . There are outdoor courts for the sports like Lawn Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball. There are separate grounds for Cricket , Hockey , Football. There are facilities for athelics too. There are many clubs like Programming and AI club- Develup and RAID. Quant Club , Product Club , Ecell, Robotics Club. Dance Club- The groove Theory Singing Club - Sangam and many other clubs too which make students better in what they are intrested
Hostel Facilities :
Single room is alloted to everyone . The room is equipped with an AC, Study Table , almirah and a bed . Mess is good but sometimes it makes food much bad . The hostel is affordable . Only 7500 per 6 months , you will be alloted the hostel when you will enter the campus so no need to worry about registration for hostel. No I did not rented any PG, so I have no idea about it.
Admission :
I applied colleges for like IIT Delhi, Madras , Bombay , Kharagpur , Kanpur , Roorkee , Guwahati , BHU bt I didn't get the branch I like cause I didn't want the lower branches . So then I got mechanical engineering in IIT Jodhpur. I got the colleges but the lower branches like metallurgy and bioengineering . I gave JEE Advanced for IITs . I came in this college through Josaa councelling . Eligibilty Criteria- Should have 75% marks in class 12 for general and OBC. Should have at least 65% in class 12 for SC , ST and PWD. Should qualify Jee Main and Advanced both. If your marks in JEE advanced is around 120 you can get admission in IITs but the cut off changes every year.
Faculty :
There are around 3800 students in the campus and 545 faculty members so the ratio of faculty to the students is around 1:7. If you want any help from faculty related to research or anything they will help you for sure. You just need to approach them for projects and they will provide you. Richa Singh and Mayank Vatsa are profs from CS department , these profs are very experienced and helps the students when they need them I didn't hate or dislike any prof. There is one minor exam and one major exam and there are various quiz and assignment as well. Only a few student fail the exam .
