What Students Say
Likes
- The faculty members are so friendly and helpful. They guide us in all the possible ways.
- The uni has a clean environment. It has strict prohibitions regarding smoking and drinking inside the campus.
- The uni hosts all kinds of festivals. Since on the days of national festivals the uni is closed, so the uni organizes pre celebration for every festival. In this way students can enjoy with all they want.
Dislikes
- Although the uni doesn't allow anyone to smoke inside the campus, some students still smoke outside the campus, even at the entrance of the uni. This makes the environment so disgusting.
- As I'm a dayscholar , I don't know about the hostel life. But I know one thing for sure that the uni hostel food is so bad.
Course Curriculum Overview
As for the syllabus it is good. We get to know almost all of the subjects that are asked in any higher studies competitive exam. The teachers also make sure that the syllabus is all covered and we understand everything.
Internships Opportunities
The uni informs us about ongoing internship opportunities. The faculty members also helps us in doing different tasks. They inspire us to write review papers. We always get e-mails in our official email id from the uni about internship and other upcoming events.
Fees and Financial Aid
Merit based scholarships are given. If you get 95% or above in the previous exam then you will get 100% off, 90% marks and above then 70% off, 85% marks and above then 50% off and 80% marks and above then 30% off. Scholarships are given to 10% of the students of the class (1st come 1st serve basis). Admission fees for any course is 20000 and a registration fees of 10000 should also be submitted at the time of registration. Tuition fees is different for different courses. For my course it is 30000 per semester (60000 per year). For other courses it may vary from 50k to 85k per semester (I'm not sure BTW).
Campus Life
I'm only connected to the sports club but I don't play any sports. The uni has an NSS unit. Which is a good chance for the students to learn social working. Mostly in September, the SET holds it's annual program. SOP also holds it's annual function every year which is known as Pharmacy Week. Each classroom have AC and projector. The library has all the books we require.
Admission
The admission process is simple. We can apply online by paying a small fee of 711 rupees. We can also pay the admission fees and registration fees and other tuition fees online. At the time of registration we have to submit the affidavit of anti-ragging undertaking and all medical checkup reports (blood RE/RBS, BP, height, weight, etc). I applied for this university because it is near to my house (at a distance of 35 km). I applied for other 2 public unis, but I couldn't get admission due to less marks and entrance exam so I took admission in this private university.
Faculty
I like all of my teachers and I respect them from the bottom of my heart. My favourite faculty from my department is my one and only ma'am Dr. Munu Borah. We appear for 2 sessional exams each semester and one final exam followed by the lab. exam. We have five theory papers from semester 1 to semester 3 and a practical paper in each semester till semester 3. As for the last semester we only have one theory paper and a research project and dissertation. The theory papers are of 70 marks (30 marks internal in each subject).
Other Applied Colleges
Dibrugarh University | Master of Science [M.Sc] (Physics)
As I belong to general caste and I didn't have the EWS certificate, so I couldn't get admission with the marks I got in DUPGET.
Gauhati University - [GU] | Master of Science [M.Sc] (Physics)
I did my BSc from Dibrugarh University. But Gauhati University provides only 30% of the seats to other university students. The marks I got in GUPGET was not high enough to get admission in GU.
