Course Curriculum Overview :

Our course Is pretty well designed, along with the core subject related courses, we need to complete certain electives of our choice, learn a foreign language and so additionall courses on humanities, commerce and arts enabling all round development and exposure for the students apart from the core subject. The flexibility in choseing the subjects also allows students to explore different subjects out of their course field.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships are offered by companies that come for placements. They are usually unpaid but can be paid if the student is exceptionally good. There are several unpaid internship opportunities from the VIT business incubator that has many startups in incubation and recruits students through interviews for their companies. Projects can be taken under professors with ongoing projects in their labs and based on availability. Internship roles vary from field to feild and can be both offsiste and onsite like web designer, developer, mangement lead, hr, lab technician etc based on the kind of company.

Placement Experience :

Our placements are really good. Some of the top companies froom various feilds come every year to hire students from our campus. About 150+ companies come every year. To name some companies , IBM, oracle, Infosys, TCS, Dr. Reddy's, Biocon, HDFC bank, Axis bank to name a few, there are more that come. Average package is 9.9Lakh while highest package hone in 2024 is 1cr to two students .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Year wise tution fees paid(this includes everything related to ur academics, labs, access to campus materials): 3,50,000 The fees depends on the fee category which is decided based on the VITEEE rank and slot a student gets. The fees can vary from 1,50,000 to 5,00,000Rs. Registration and counselling fees: approximately 2000Rs Scholarships is avaiable for students who have scored highest (top 100) in VITEEE entrace exam. It ranges on ranks. The scholarship continues if student is consistently performing well or is a topper in hislher branch as well.Branch toppers also get a fee waiver of some amount. There is a STARS scholarship as well for local students who are financially underprivileged but are meritorius in their studies. Tution fees is fully waivered for those students from VIT. Apart from this, hostellers need to pay hostel fees depending on their room type ranging from around 10,000 for NRIs to 2,50,000. Hostel fees includes mess charges for meals upto 4 times a day(lunch breakfast snacks and dinner) and laundry charges are included.

Campus Life :

We have a great infrastucture with a campus of about 350 acres, around 15 mens hostel blocks, 8 female hostel blocks, 9 academic buildings, a lake, two grounds and a lush green campus. We have about 150+ clubs that are active in different feilds and sectors that conduct activities all round the year making the campus life very lively and happening. There are sport facilities of basketball courts, badminton courts, open grounds, gyms and indoor rooms found in several places on the campus both in academic area and hostel blocks.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are great and range from 6 sharing to single sharing. There are single room types as well as apartment type hostels. The range is from 10,000 rs to 2.5L per year which includes mess charges for meals for 4 times a day and laundry charges throughtout the year. The mess food depends on caterer in different hostel blocks and is usually nutritous and there is good spread of food rangimg from Savory to sweet and north as well as South Indians. There is a night mess facility from 10pm to 12pm as well. A min hostel deposit of 5000 needs to be paid at the start of the year which will be returned at the end of 4 years given no damage is made to the hostel property. Many amenities such as gyms, sports areneas, swimming pools etc are available as well.

Admission :

VIT vellore is known for its great research facilities, flexibility in learning and opting for courses, well equipped labs and professors with pHDs. Vit has close proximity to major cities like Bangalore and Chennai as well. It has an amazing and huge campus as well.Biotechnology in vit is rated one of the best ik the country as it also Has several on going funded research projects. Vit has it's own entrance exam VITEEE which is not moderatleu hard. Admissions are solely based on the ranking through this exam.

Faculty :

Faculty to student ratio is good. About 50:1. Some faculties are really nice and approchable while others might be a little hard to approch although most are well learned and knowledable in their feilds. Along with faculty, there are research assistants to assist them and help the students in their course. Certain faculties can be rude and incompetant but thatt number is very less. There are three exams per semester, continous assessment 1, 2 and final assessment tests. CAT 1 and 2 are 50 marks each. Cat 2 is an open book test and hence compatitively harder than cat 1. While FAT and CAT 1 are moderately hard.

From 5th senester students are eleigible for the placements. So your 5th semester cgpa is very important. This college provide placements from companies like zoho, accenture, tcs , hexaware, mitsogo and more. The highest package is 12Lakhs and lowest package us 3lakhs.60 percentage of students are getting placed each year. Its fully depend on your skills. My plan is to place in campus placements for a web developer role.

There are so many core companies coming to the college. The students who have that eligibility can surely enter into a good company. If you haven't placed anywhere you can also join very good companies with high packages.

Placement Experience:

The students get eligible fro the placements and attends interviews from the sixth semester. And the college starts to provide special placeement training from the end of the sixth semester. Even I'm still not eligible to attend the college placements, I hear a lot from my seniors about the placements. From those informations, some of the major and high paying companies like Accenture, Infosys, Sutherland often approach college for the placement. I have no knowledge about the highest package but average package could be ranging from 5,00,000 to 6,00,000 LPA. The highest number of students that are getting placed are from Dept. of AI&DS. With overall count of students attending more than 50% students passes the aptitude and reasoning test round, 15% of students passes the Group Discussion round, and only 5-6% students passes the HR round and getting placed. I personally started to hate these 9-5 jobs after hearing from the seniors who got placed in so called "best IT companies". So, my short term plan is to get placed in a high paying IT company and work till i get fired by any means. My major and long term plan is to start a business with all the savings that I've saved from my job.
