Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is decided by the university, and college follows it in their own ways. The curriculum has 4 years of studying and practival learning with one year of paid internship. During the four years, all aspects of medical science is taught and post internship, one emerges as a well qualified doctor. Exams are held frequently and are of moderate difficulty level

Internships Opportunities

4

After the final year, all the department students have to do a mandatory 1-year internship in a well-spread manner. The stipend offered to the students is Rs. 25,000 per month. After an internship, you can apply for house staff post alongside postgraduate entrance preparation, or you can fully concentrate on postgraduate entrance preparation.

Placement Experience

4

Placement is the same as any government college in West Bengal under WBUHS. You get around 30k during an internship per month, and this goes up to 40k if you can do a housestaffship after completing your MBBS degree. During MD/MS, you can get 60k and above depending on your branch, be it medicine or surgery, and that will depend upon your NEET PG/NEXT rank. Our college hospital provides 1 year internship. It provides Rs 29000 stipends every month. West Bengal government medical colleges provide one of the highest stipend in the country. But internship can be hectic in some department.

Campus Life

4

one of the leading college in west Bengal. And one of the busiest hospital in west Bengal. Feel free to choose NRS but don't be too much excited to enjoy life after cracking NEET because MBBS is a very tough course. The relative infrastructure is good. Hostels are good but there is a little bit of lack of cleanliness. Wi-Fi is available on college premises. The food served in this college is okay. I am a vegetarian so I have little difficulty but if you are a nonvegetarian, you will face very few difficulties. You can order food or go to nearby market places for eating.

Hostel Facilities

4

Our college has still maintained infrastructure with the latest style classrooms, labs and library. Our college provides the hostel, unlike other medical colleges, and it has all the hostels within the campus. The hostels are equipped with modern amenities. However, there is no air-conditioned facility in the hostel, unlike several private counterparts. The mess and canteen served great quality and standard food. It is a medical college, so don't worry about the medical facilities here. Our college provides a ground of its own which recently got updated with artificial turf and floodlights. There is a badminton court in the boy's hostel. Our college also conducts tournaments yearly.

Admission

We have to NEET a compulsory pre medical entrance test. The ranks in neet procure us with medical seat. Application date generally comes in the month of November and December. Application fees is 1700 for General/NRI. Rs 1600 General-EWS, OBC-NCL category candidates.Rs 1000 for SC, st PwBD and third gender. Reservation-aiq 15% and state quota 85% 40% general, 10% EWS, 27% for OBC, 15% sc and 7.5% for st category candidates. Frequency- once a year generally in the first week of May. Difficulty level - easy to moderate.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is poor as there are 250 students, but the faculty is good. For practicals, we're divided into small groups and again into subgroups, thus l practicals are conducted which is very effective. They teach well, don't lose their patience and repeat their explanations as well as clear doubts. We can easily approach our faculty interact with them. They're welcoming

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very noble. It gives us the power to heal others. When I was a child, i was impressed by the ability and skills of a doctor. The patient family were treating him like god. So i decided to pursue it because of the amount of respect and wealth we gain. In the real world it helps us to become a good person, interact with the injured society and connect to the people emotionally. Teaching methods could be improved by giving more and more real life examples and exposing to the wards and clinics. Learning is more fun when we do more practicals. The college must ensure that more and more practical classes and clinical exposure is given to the students so that they can learn effeciently. The cases of the cirriculum should be given to the students to look how they handle it.

The concept of education is misunderstood my many students. Students want to study in order to make money and become rich so that they can fulfill their wants. Similarly money is invested by parents in terms of the amount of investment it will reap in the future. Because of this reason females are not given much higher education in our country.
