My College Experience in St. Edmund's College

i choose this course, because it will help me for my UPSC exam. The course that I've choose will help me for my further academic pursuits, since it is a highly demanded course. The course that I'm currently pursuing is a 4 years UG course.

the internship opportunity available in our college is high. companies like Apex Bank, ICICI bank and many more banks use to hire intern from our college. the intern will have to undergo training before getting their role.

the students from 4th Semester above are eligible for the campus placements. the college placement cell provides each and every opportunity to the students and to influence the students to not only be good in the academics but to also have extra curricular activities. the college placement cells always conducts online or offline meetings with the students, to hell them faced the real world and to not be covered in a bubble shell. they brings people from outside to conduct the meeting and select students who are capable. Many companies has offered placement for the students from our college, companies from the country as well as outside the country. the highest package is 30000 and average package is 5000 as offered by the company. the percentage of students getting placements is 95% out of 100%. the remaining 5% may have their own reasons to not go for the placement or they are not selected for the placement. My plans after getting my degree is to continue with my UPSC, i don't have any other plan apart from UPSC.

We are paying our fees by Semester wise. The fees is 27,500 per semester for the course that I've opted. The no breakage of fees, meaning that it cannot be paid by installments. The fees are to be paid three weeks before the final exam starts in every semester. The Government provides the scholarship that doesn't even cover our semester fees. With the implementation of the NEP 2020 our fees has increased. We paid fees much higher than we paid before. We pay hostel fees 8000 per month. The scholarship provided by the government depends on the college we are studying in. It also depends on the course we're taking. In our college the scholarship is 25000, which doesn't even cover our semester fees. Also there's is no regularity of giving the scholarship by the government. Some students may receive the scholarship and some may not. Hence, it is difficult for us to cover our semester fees, coaching fees and hostel fees.

my overall experience with my college can be desired by one word which is 'fun'. Fun in the sense that, we have to make time for our self-studies session and the college. we have to balance our personal life and college life. as for me being the secretary of the college sports team, we use to go for inter college games competition. we use to have match in the college during the off-exam season. mostly we have match during the holidays season like the month of October, November, December, January, February, March, April where we don't usually have exam.

i stayed in a private hostel, which is more affordable than the college hostel. The hostel fees every month is 8,000. Late submission of fees whill be charged 100 per day. they provide 3 meals a day in our hostel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. we are provided Wifi in the hostel 24/7. we have running water for 5 hours a day. laundry can be wash alternate days. the hostel timing is 5am to 7pm.

i choose this college because it is my dream college, and it is one of the best college in the state. the college always ranked 1st, be it in academics or any curriculum activities. i got confirmation letter from each college I've applied to, but i choose this college because it's ranked 1st in the state. No, i didn't get any rejection letter from any college that i applied. The admission in our college is through the CUET exam. to get into our college, you must have good score in the CUET exam and they will admit based on the final result of the past year exam.

The faculty members are divided department wise in our college. the faculty members in our department are friendly abd approachable. we can ask help from them any time we want. they are ready to help either online or offline mode. therefore we doesn't face problems approaching our teachers in the department. we have 10 faculty members in our department, and currently we have 1500 students in our department, which is divided into 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters. I like all the faculty members from our department. they're are friendly in nature, approachable and adaptive with the students. there's no faculty member that i dislike from our department. university based we have only one exam, which is the final exam for each semester. College based, our college provide monthly test which is conducted every last week of the month, and internal test which will help in our finals. The college provide monthly test to prepare the students for the finals. the level of difficulty is average, since the questions are based on the past year question papers. the pass percentage is more than the fail percentage in our college. example out of 100 students only 2 students will fail, the rest are passed.
