What Students Say

Likes

International and National level exposure is availed by many BSMS students itself from 2nd year onwards.
The proffesional labs are literally the best in the world. They try to inculcate the promotion of science through the exposure.
The proffs are highly qualified and their Letter of recomendations matters a lot.

Dislikes

Administration is very rude and they misbehave also
The security in our campus is so strict which makes me feel like I am in a jail sort of thing.
Some of the proffs are literally not student friendly.

Course Curriculum Overview

We have a relatively better course structure, but what i think is IISER Pune has the most advanced sort of curriculum which gives them a better advantages and helps in their NIRF Ranking also. All the courses should be type of open elective.

Internships Opportunities

I was selected for an intrenship in the field of Virology and Vaccine Development at CSIR- CDRI Lucknow, UP, India. I was also selected for an internship in the field of Neural Gene Regulation at CSIR-IGIB, New Delhi, India

Fees and Financial Aid

Rs 130000 year wise fees Rs 34000 as tutition mess, user charges including hostel fess is Rs 6400, Mess Charges is Rs 3500 per month, Lab mess is Rs 5000, Student Actiivty Fess is also included in the user charges.

Campus Life

Enthuzia is our annual Cultural fest. Each and every month, we organize a fest by different student councils and try to do bettrr than the previous year. We have the best sports facilities and activities here.

Hostel Facilities

I live in the third floor of six storey building. Till date, we have 8 hostels in our campus. Two hostels are being constructed in order to get a single room. We have a residential campus here only, so all UG students live inside the campus only

Admission

The exposure and the connections that I have here, made me chose IISER Bhopal over IISER Pune and I was correct by making one of the best life choices in my life. I have entered this college through IISER Aptitute test, General category.

Faculty

Anyone from the Biological Sciences dept. are chill profs. They don't care about the attendance policy. They teaches quite well. But, some try to show their skill by setting a difficult quizzes, mid sem and end sem papers.

A brief review of IISER Bhopal

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is very research driven, and it is very flexible too. Course is as per the New Education Policy and is relevant to modern industrial needs. However the Curriculum is all around Pure Sciences, like the B.Sc but just the college is much better than a normal BSc college. First two year is given to students to get along with subjects that they want to study in future, in the third year they choose their Majors. Quizzes are frequent and occurs biweekly, while Exams occurs every month and so.

IISER BHOPAL : A HOME FOR MANY

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum trains students in various research fields, including lab and theory. The course prepares a student to get either a industry position, or PhD position. The course curriculum can be improved by porividing more exposure to students who havent experienced, these fields. Exams are good, easy if youve understood the course content. These exams are based on a wide information of the topic, and are not limited to just one textbook.

My thoughts on IISERB

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I am just in my first year right now, the courses I have are fairly introductory. But since we have to study PCMB, Earth Science, Programming and a Humanities course just in the first year, it's fairly hard to manage. we have 2 quizzes, a mid sem exam and an end sem exam in each semester typically at the end of each consecutive month (4 month semester). The marking scheme, syllabus, paper pattern, time, difficulty etc are all subject to change according to the professor.

Placement Experience:

As it's a research institution, more emphasis is given to academia and research instead of placements. We have an active placement cell, but still, it's lackluster compared to engineering colleges. The average package hovers around 10 lpa, and only a handful of people get placements. Most opt for Phd or an MBA.

Knowing IISERB engineering sciences

Placement Experience:

Mostly from 8th semester onwards students become eligible for sitting in placements and getting preplacement offers in their applied companies. Companies like nomura Bank ,Barclays and Dr Reddy's lab have visited the campus in the past. Mostly all the students get placed because less number of student sitting for the placements. According to last year data around 31 lakhs per annum was the highest package and the average was around 10 lakhs per annum. My plan is to get into a foreign university for my higher studies.

My thoughts on IISERB

I was interested in Physics from the very beginning of my JEE prep but had no idea that IISERs even exist and thought that if I want to study physics at the best possible level in India, IIT was the way. So I naturally aimed for it but I guess I didn't work hard enough and in the end, I failed to make it there.
