Campus

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The specific aspects of the curriculum is that it is provides both research and corporate blend to the subject of engineering. The area of improvement can be more use of engineering facilities in the labs as engineering colleges. Mostly exams are taken one cinnamon thunder of moderate to difficult in their difficulty level

Placement Experience

4.5

Mostly from 8th semester onwards students become eligible for sitting in placements and getting preplacement offers in their applied companies. Companies like nomura Bank ,Barclays and Dr Reddy's lab have visited the campus in the past. Mostly all the students get placed because less number of student sitting for the placements. According to last year data around 31 lakhs per annum was the highest package and the average was around 10 lakhs per annum. My plan is to get into a foreign university for my higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee is broken down into 3 segments the tuition fees , the student activity council fees and the hostel fees . The total course fees 1st semester is 53100 and per year is 106200 as a year consists of two semesters. The institute supports all the central government scholarships and Madhya Pradesh State government scholarships directly and other state college scholarships indirectly. The department of science and technology INSPIRE SHE Scholarship is most popular one in the institute. For students of SC and ST categories the tuition fee is not taken hence the only be the student activity council and hostel fees

Campus Life

4.5

The annual tech fest is ARMAGEDDON and the annual fest is ENTHUZIA which are held in the begining of even semester of that particular year. Many extra curricular activities take place during the events and also concerts and workshops are held. There are many student run groups and clubs to organise all these events throughout the year and these have a great impact on a student's life at the institute . Library has more than 50000 books and many journals are available also the computer centre has more than 100 Linux system s for competitional needs of the students

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel rooms are quite big for two people living in double occupancy the room has all the basic needs and for a single corridor there are some bathrooms and toilets provided. The registration for hostel takes place on the same date as a admission and hostel fees is 13400 per year according to dean of student affairs. The mess food qualities very great in terms of its wider coverage of meals.

Admission

I also applied to other colleges through joint entrance examination but I selected IISER Bhopal because of its unique engineering sciences curriculum that can help me to get into foreign university for further studies. The admission process includes giving iiser aptitude test held in June and the minimum eligibility is having past class 12th with at least 60% marks.

Faculty

4.5

The actual ratio varies from one department of IISERB to the other . But on average it's 1:20 . I like Dr Govardhan Das for his down to earth nature and great visual representations of his subject. There are generally 4 to 5 exams in a course in the whole semester apart from the lab courses. The syllabus is quite relevant and around 5 to 10% students in batch fail in at least a single course

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is very research driven, and it is very flexible too. Course is as per the New Education Policy and is relevant to modern industrial needs. However the Curriculum is all around Pure Sciences, like the B.Sc but just the college is much better than a normal BSc college. First two year is given to students to get along with subjects that they want to study in future, in the third year they choose their Majors. Quizzes are frequent and occurs biweekly, while Exams occurs every month and so.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum trains students in various research fields, including lab and theory. The course prepares a student to get either a industry position, or PhD position. The course curriculum can be improved by porividing more exposure to students who havent experienced, these fields. Exams are good, easy if youve understood the course content. These exams are based on a wide information of the topic, and are not limited to just one textbook.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I am just in my first year right now, the courses I have are fairly introductory. But since we have to study PCMB, Earth Science, Programming and a Humanities course just in the first year, it's fairly hard to manage. we have 2 quizzes, a mid sem exam and an end sem exam in each semester typically at the end of each consecutive month (4 month semester). The marking scheme, syllabus, paper pattern, time, difficulty etc are all subject to change according to the professor.

Placement Experience:

As it's a research institution, more emphasis is given to academia and research instead of placements. We have an active placement cell, but still, it's lackluster compared to engineering colleges. The average package hovers around 10 lpa, and only a handful of people get placements. Most opt for Phd or an MBA.

We have a relatively better course structure, but what i think is IISER Pune has the most advanced sort of curriculum which gives them a better advantages and helps in their NIRF Ranking also. All the courses should be type of open elective.

Since IISER Bhopal is a research based institute, the placements here are not judged as in aspect of job placements after bachelor's degree, rather people here generally go for higher studies. But regardless the knowledge and experience gained here by people help them apply for any organisation off campus
