- Placement is the big issue here and also there is no guidance for internships
Course Curriculum Overview :
B.com gives a holistic overview of the stream i.e, commerce. It also opens door to many opportunities I guess. I'm the first batch of NEP where more importance has been given to vocational education, but I guess it is still not upto mark. Even now more emphasis is given on theory but it will change with time. They should give more emphasis on real world applications and internships etc. Exams are conducted on time.
Fees and Financial Aid :
Year- wise fee for doing B.com is around 25000 per year (including examination fee etc). Enrollment fee is ?250, development fee is ?500, equipment chemicals is ?900 etc. There is also fee waiver category for students having family income less than ?2,00,000 (their admission is free, if you show the income certificate).
Campus Life :
Some of the events that is held in our college are 1. College Week (many events takes place like sports- kabaddi, football, cricket, arm wrestling, volleyball etc., competitions like singing, dancing, salad making competitions, mehendi, rangoli, poster making competitions etc) 2. The economic department of our college also organise an event called Shark Pups- where students puts various stalls like food, cloths, snacks, jewellery etc. empowering their entrepreneurial skills that could make them a better entrepreneurs in future. The library in our college is pretty huge which cater to the requirements of the students. Books on Assamese literature, story books including books of writer like Jane Austen etc., and also books on various other courses and exams. I usually issue books required for my semester. There are also various clubs like literature, dance, sports, singing etc.
Admission :
I applied to KC Das Commerce College and I also got accepted there but the reason I didn't chose that college was because of the commute. The travelling from my home to the college is simple (I don't have to change to different vehicles). But if I talk about KC Das college in regards to travelling, I have to change 2 vehicles and would also increase the travelling cost. One get accepted in the college though there class 12 percentage and then a merit list is prepared with the name of those student who got accepted. OBC, SC, ST do get preference while taking admission.
Faculty :
Faculty of our college is good and knowledgeable, most of the teachers are approachable but there are always exceptions. I like the finance department and also mathematics department whenever I approach them with doubts, they try do solve them. There are 2 exams held per semester (sessional and final exam, also re-sessional exam are conducted for those who were absent in the first sessional exam).
