- Mess Food is excellent they have a variety of options and Campus is green and beautiful
- Big campus so Almost every one walks like 8km+ a day if you have 4 classes or so
Dislikes
- fees is way too much for a btech course not saying other colleges are cheap but if you get gov funding then why the fee is so high
- faculty is not that cooperative and some students create unnecessary ruckus in the class
Course Curriculum Overview :
Since this my 1st yr right now we are all being taught the same stuff regardless of our branch but yeah tbh college has some amazing infrastructure for core branches like really high end machines especially for the mech and electronic departments. Chemical Engineering is also a key branch here unlike other colleges this college focuses on practical learning+ coding in c and Java is mandatory for all 4 years
Internships Opportunities :
So internship season starts from 5th sem and generally the stipend is 4 to 5k a month but if yiu do a great job in the company you might get like 20k a month for 3 day a week job and maybe a PPO from 6th sem onwards Mainly Tata Birla group provide internship opportunities in colleges of jharkhand
Placement Experience :
So Placement % of Chemical Engineering is 60% and average package is like 11lpa in non core (it, consultancy, trading like jobs) and 9lpa in core(Reliance Tata, Pharma Companies) From Semester 7 non core companies start hiring and core ones generally cone at the end sem or begining of 8th sem Heighest Package offered was 18 lakhs Avg is 9 lpa I am looking at Gate and get into top PSUs or maybe MBA after btech
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yearly - 4 lakh Tution Fee and 1 lakh Mess Fees Yes There is GP Birla Scholarship in which if you score above 8+ you get 20% off on your tution fee 8.5+ gets you 40% off 8.8+ gets you 50% 9+ gets you 70% 9.5+ gets you 90 to 100% tution fee waiver There is no reservation based fee structure so students from st sc group pay the same fees as us general guys. In general the full fees is close to 20L but the mess fees increases every year by 2 to 3k so it can vary a little bit....
Campus Life :
Yeah so the campus is big like 800 acres and Greenery is everywhere weather of Ranchi is just fabulous never felt ki kych zayada garmi lag rahi hai Air is very oure AQI is also great so it feels yiu are literally at some Nirvana like place. There are way too many clubs and there is always an event happening here some treasure hunt etc etc.. Gym is also great everything you could ask for so soni body bana loge yahan aake Library is aslo amazing everything you need is there from history to sociological to phy to top grade phd level mathamatics books
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel is nice always clean uts line cleaned everyday no wierd smell or something toilet and bathroom is cleaned thrice a day We get double bed in 1st 2nd yr in 3rd yr its double rn but after a year or do a new hostel will be ready so from 3rd to 4th it is single occupancy
Admission :
So I was getting Metallurgy productions and biotechnology like branches in many tier 2 nits ece and mech in tier 3 (poor infrastructure) cse in tier 4 nits (without permanent campus, almost no infra apart from main building) But I genuinely wanted to get a core branch+ being from JAMSHEDPUR Ranchi was like my second home (came here many times) So yeah.. These are ny reasons mainly 1) Bit Mesra was near my house 2) Chemical Engineering is quite easy 3) Core branch means Gate is always an option 4) Bit Mesra tag is much better than Nit manipur or mizoram
Faculty :
Faculty is good its just that they are way below the level of our jee teachers who really helped us out on a lot of occasions but here its a little professional kind of teaching so the student prof bond is not that nice but faculty are very experienced and teach very well almost comparable to iit profs The marking scheme is relative so its good if you are in the top 5 or top 10 you can easily get 9.6+ gpa There are Quiz 1 - 10marks Quiz 2 - 10marks Mid sem - 25 end sem - 50 assignment - 5 Marks
