IIT ROORKEE

Dislikes

  • There are some restrictions regarding playing football in the lawn

Course Curriculum Overview :

Metallurgy is a pretty cool course U get to learn about materials and their strengths weaknesses U learn from zero to infinity about a material Teaching methods could become more practical which might increase interest about the subject even more There are 8 sems over the course of 4 years Each sem has a midsems and an endsem December may and June are complete holidays

Placement Experience :

Placements are great , however they vary bramchwise. This year Roorkee observed a small dip die to recession and everyone were not placed on campus . However many got placed off campus and received some great packages too

Fees and Financial Aid :

Tuition fees -100K/year Hostel fees 20000/year There is one part of field trip fees of around 5000 every semester For other categories of science st they don't have to pay any tuition fees Scholarships and financial aids are available for ews and obc-ncl students .

Campus Life :

There are lot of clubs you can get recruited into . They are mainly divided into tech cult and others they provide a great opportunity to reshape yourself and learn new things. A good peer group with similar thoughts and thinking s are found in these groups

Hostel Facilities :

Facilities provided in the room are one cupboard one study table a fan and a bed , chair Meals are not so good but not too bad also Registration process is pretty smooth and happens on the day of registration Hostels are inside the campus but yess you have to get up early in the morning for classes at around 8 ::))

Admission :

I loved IIT Roorkees campus It was my dream college and so I took the branch I was getting . I am enjoying it over here , the flora fauna everything is so great over here Friends and roommates are like family ,everyone bond together we'll.

Faculty :

Faculty to student ratio will be around 40:1 Facultys asistants are quite approachable and they solve ur doubts and even explain it well Best facilities are prof maurya Exams are tough if u don't study , they are mediocre if u study à week before and they are easy if you study during the whole semester:)

Placements are decent for CSE branch. But for other baranches very few companies visit on campus. Also for other branches your Cgpa should be good to be eligible for companies. If you have interest in your core branch(other than CSE) than it is better to preparing for Gate in early stage(like start preparing from 2nd year).

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well I chose this course because I want to learn all coding language and AI and ml but I didn't see here I can do that...there should improvement in teachers and the analogy of teaching should be changed well the frequency of exam is good but one thing should be changed which is approach of teachers towards students

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good and follows all requirements set by AICTE. It familiarise students with the practical part of branch and theoretical also to make them a good engineer. But in implementation it makes some difficulties because of lab structure the labs doesn't have proper attendent to handle it.

I think from 8th semester they are eligible for campus placement. Many companies like HCL, Amazon, Tata ect have visited our college for placement. The highest package Is of 22 lpa and the average package is 4 lpa to 5 lpa . 60% of the students get placement My plan is to get a good package of around 15 lpa

You start sitting for internship companies in the 5th semester and for jobs in the 7th semester. The companies keep coming continuously. Big MNC's come every other month but startups keep coming every other day. The CSO keeps working till you are placed even if you are an NC student (have active backlogs). I have received an offer from HPE. There have been only 1-2 companies who came and didn't offer to any student. Highest package since Sept'24 (I am writing in Nov'24) is actually 40lpa from D.E Shaw to one student and average so far has been 5lpa.
