Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum has some unwanted subjects like quantitative math and English proficiency, which they say are important for placements but they don't really teach anything important in it. It's just 9-10th statistics, instead I wish they could add classes for public speaking and include extra curricular activities like debate, MUN mock sessions group discussions, etc.
Placement Experience
So far, we're the second batch of BCA (the course started last year) so our seniors are yet to enter their final year. Therefore are no records of placements in BCA but the placements in other branches (BTech) are promising.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees per sem-40k During admission you're to pay an admission fee of 10k for BCA. Scholarship- If your 12th grade marks are-> >=80 - 80% scholarship >=70 -60% scholarship >=60 -40% scholarship >=50 -20% scholarship If is to be noted that the scholarship is only for the first sem, and to maintain the scholarship you have to maintain good cgpa or your scholarship will be terminated.
Campus Life
There is an invisible barrier between the BBA and LBA students, I don't really understand the reason behind it but it feels like they look down on people in the tech branches (BCA, BSC and BTech) for no reason. I'm still new to the campus, so I don't know much about the fests. The library on the other hand, is quite big with air-conditioning for all three floors and a peaceful ambience to get things done. Sports exist but day scholars like myself don't really get to play anything, and the extra curricular activities are almost dead. I've applied to the literature club at my university, and the fintech club also looks appealing. Just explore your interests and apply to a club, probably a good way of socialising.
Admission
The admission process is not very complicated. You're assigned a date on which you're supposed to bring your documents (aadhar card xerox or parents and yourself, class 10 and 12 marksheets (original), and anti ragging form which will be sent to your email along with a health declaration form along with the payment verification emails). And once you're there at the venue, your number is called out and your documents are verified. After that you have to choose your section and voila, you're a student at ICFAI tech.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is 5:70 or 1:14 According to me, Mr. Madhu sukhakar is really good at computer system and design. He likes taking a practical approach towards things, unlike some professors who just present a PPT and leave when the class is done. There are 3 exams per sem- Class test 1 - 20 marks per subject Class test 2- 20 marks per subject Class test 3- 50 marks per subject Other 10 marks will be awarded for assignment completion.
