  • Infrastructure of the college is very old, as it is an old college of 1960-70s, so that development can be made by the authorities
  • Thought it has a lot of greenery, but the place is very harsh in regards to climate, its very hot in summers, with high humidity

Course Curriculum Overview :

The fact that electrical engineering has both private abd government job scopes led me to select the course. The curriculum prepares one well enough. There can ve more practical methods and industry visits. 6 exams a year, 3 in each semester for each subject. These exams are moderate to hard in nature, rarely easy.

Internships Opportunities :

Internsgips are provuded in local psu, and also for psu near the homes of students, there are also companies that visit the college and provide internship opportunities for the 3rd year students in their summer vacations and for 4th year they get to go for internships in the 8th semester, that is from january to june.

Placement Experience :

From 7 sem we are allowed to sit fir campus placements. There are companies like jubilant, axxela, etc visiting the college. The highest package goes to around 50 lac and lowest 6 lacs per annum. The percentage of students that get placed are around 80 percentage. I may go for higher study after college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tuition fees per semester is 71000 with the course having 8 semester, and on yearly basis it is round 1.4 lacs. Its not increasing yearly. No scholarship is provided by thr college. However for SC, ST and EWS category, there is no tuition fees. They only pay the hostel fees of 20000 per semester, thus totally paying 40000 per year to hostel.

Campus Life :

Annual fests are Incandescence, which is cultural, and Technoesis, which is technical fest. All books arr available in library, the clubs are also extensive. There are mudic, dance, drama, trekking, eco clubs etc. which are active. Sports like badminton, cricket, volleyball, football, basketball are there.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are decent. For 20000 per sem they provide food 4 times a day, the food quality is decent. Its affordable. Hostels are preferred as rgey are economical in nature, though there are also options outside the campus, but since the campuss is 600 acres, it becomes far from the class if one stays outside the campus.

Admission :

I didn't apply to other colleges, only applied here. For this college, we had to qualify jee mains and sit for counselling where we selected a priority list for our college preference. I got into this college, and later I had to keep up with their official website to know what had to be done, had to provide 10 and 12 marksheets, proof of my JEE score and admission fees as documents, and thus got admitted.

Faculty :

The faculty is good. The ration of faculty to student is 1:15. Faculty and student relationship is decent, can be called average. All faculties are good in my opinion, sone names being Dr. BK Roy, Dr. AK Goswami, Dr. Asha Rani, etc. There are 3 exams in each semester for each subject, 1minor, 1mindsem and 1 endsem, thus 6 exams for each subject in a year. The exams are moderate to hard, rarely easy. Around 3-4 students fail. The course curriculum is more than relevant.

Placement Experience:

The college holds a high placement rate with a significant percentage of Students security jobs before graduation. The college attracts reputed companies e.g. google ,microsoft , bajaj, oracle, barclays , grow ,etc. for campus placement including top multinational corporations and leading firms in various sectors . Total 164 offers were made by 59 companies during last academic year(2022-23). In addition, IIT Guwahati students have already received as many as 214 pre placement offers during the academic year 2023-24. The highest package this year is 2.05 crore per annum. Placement rate is 72%. My plan is to get a good pre placement offers before my graduation .

Admission:

I have just completed my schooling. It's but obvious that studying somewhere else from your hometown is exciting. And so as soon as I got my results, I started searching for the colleges and found AIT. As per my research, the faculty over here implements practical strategies into your studies that really made me choose AIT. The admission process was very smooth. They asked for certain documents that I have submitted and then pretty much went simple. It was very smoothly conducted by the teachers and the student volunteers.

Placement Experience:

Previously there was no placement opportunity, but now things have evolved, and now there are campus placements as well. The placement cell coordinators, along with the teachers, work hard to ensure that students get placed in reputed companies.
