  • I wish there was more exposure to sports

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose This course because i absolutely love everything about political science, It's like I get to know about the political system , The political system in India and Outside India, I get to know how the government functions, the administrative structure and everything. The curricular does an excellent job in doing that since political science is all about knowing how our political system is expected to work. The exams mainly are of 3 hours and It's hard it is

Internships Opportunities :

There are not much internship opportunities as much as I know specially for the Arts section or like the Humanities section , But we do go for summer internships which is a unpaid internship to gain experience and knowledge

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

In Bethune college we pay fees semester wise. Admission fees (one time ) - Rs 200-500 Tuition fee - rs 1200-1800 (150 per month) Session charges- rs 400 Library fees -rs 100 Examination fee - rs 450 Identity Card few - rs 50 Scholarship granted - Post matric Scholarships Government scholarships Scholarships provided from the college itself for someone coming from the weaker section of the society

Campus Life :

We have lots of events going on throughout the year , but the main is Alaap , It's the annual Fest of Bethune college , and again It's beautiful and fun. It's typically held in the month of December. Library has Almost every genre of book that is needed. Facilities are okay can be improved There is not much exposure to sports but other than that there is a lot of exposure to other co- curricular activities. There are a lot of clubs - dance , drama, debate , quiz etc.

Admission :

I applied to a lot of colleges like Loreto, Lady Barbourne, Asutosh, and Maulana Azad, and I got into all of those, and no doubt they are good, but Bethune Has a charm, It's the only girl's college from Kolkata to feature in The NIRF Rankins, Bethune has a heritage that no one can match and it has a environment which is beautiful, and the faculty - top notch especially of my department. The admission process is You apply, you wait for the Merit list , when you name appears, pay the fees and wait for the verification date. The cut-off is high you need to score at least 92%

Faculty :

The Faculty to student ratio is Good , Like You get 5-6 professors for every class with 30+ students, The faculty is Very approachable, helpful and friendly, They are very non judgemental. I love the whole faculty of Pol.sci department, they are beautiful human being inside out. There are 2 main exams, semester exams, other than that , There are internals and vivas

Other Applied Colleges

Loreto College | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Political Science)

I didn't opt for this college because the yearly fees was way higher, and the authority was not very approachable

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always liked psychology since the day i took the subject in class 11-12. I was very determined to persue psychology in my graduation as well as masters. The curriculum convinced me more to study this subject and know more about it. The curriculum involves all the aspects including it's applications in the real world. I personally don't think they should make much changes to the curriculum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This curriculum is enriched with literature works by British and American writers which is really enjoyable to read and the Teachers make it more exciting. Teachers are really good at explaining every single point in the syllabus. In the history of literature part they give us notes about each and every write a and there works so that we are familiar with most of the part of our syllabus. They does not teach only for the exams but they make sure that we learn everything with depth. We have a semester exams in every 6 month but sometimes it becomes 7 or 5. But the teachers are really supportive so that we don't panic in our exams.

Placement Experience:

Training and placement cell complements the efforts of the members of faculty by organizing value-added programs and providing career counseling and placement opportunities to students. It acts as the major interface with the corporate sector and helps develop the industry-academia interrelationship. The cell organizes certain orientation programs, grooming sessions, mock interview sessions for students of each stream. Moreover, the cell organizes various summer internship programs for students to provide them with hands-on experience, thus introducing them to the professional environment. The cell continuously coordinates with various industries and organizations for the placement of students. It actively obtains feedback from organizations and conveys it to respective departments which, in turn, trains students accordingly, thereby increasing their employability. At Heritage, an all-out effort is made to groom the students for enhanced employability.

Admission:

I got affirmation in this university based on 10+2 marks. The base imprints expected to get a confirmation in this school is 50% in 10+2. To get affirmation, first, the up-and-comer needs to fill the structure. As I have done B.A. from this college, my affirmation depends on the legitimacy list.

Placement Experience:

The college gives great positions to the students. Numerous seniors from my seashore were put with acceptable compensation bundles. Numerous students likewise landed government positions. Likewise, a portion of the students got entry-level positions in all around rumoured firms. I also got an internship at this university. After that, I was placed in the same firm.

Remarks:

The postivie thing of our college is its Ambeince, Quality teachings, and being on of the oldest colleges in west bengal its a heritage to us and as a student i am proud to be a student of this college. In academic ways it clears all the basic and essential qualities needed in terms of studies which made it to be one of the top colleges in west bengal. The only negative thing according to me is that our canteen is open only for our professors not for us which is very unfair.

Remarks:

The College excels in providing a peaceful learning atmosphere where there is no brouhaha of the outside world and the teachers are superb. But , unfortunately, being a boys-only college, the girls can not have the excellent opportunities provided here. As an autonomous college, they should exercise their freedom more to the students' needs. The disciplinarian rigidity is extreme help, but it fires back sometimes. Otherwise, the college is a complete package for those who wants to really build their career and at the same time live a enjoyable hostel life. It is an experience indelible. Students are lucky and proud.

Entrance Preview:

There is no entrance exam conducted by the college. They publish a merit list and tech admission are done through this merit list.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum strictly follows the university guidelines. The curriculum is very tough and extreme time and energy has to be invested to be able to score moderately good. Pass subjects are another headache because you have to clear them too. So choose a moderately easy subject which you think you can handle.
