- The campus beauty is immense. It is a very large campus and had a very green environment. It has lots of places to visit using our cycles .
- The sports facilities are like a gem for a person who likes to play sports. The two large cricket and football grounds along with the basketball and volleyball courts, hockey ground etc are amazing.
Dislikes
- The distance from hall to Nalanda classroom complex is long and we have to go via our cycles, which is very tiresome.
- The routine specially for our dept in this semester. It has the least course content compared to all other branches but it has classes at 5-6 slot and also it starts at early 8 am. This makes it less likeable.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is very much relevant in today's world. The subjects like supply chain management , quality designing and all the stuff taught are of very much importance in the industry nowadays. The course is very flexible in adapting any new innovations which is important for a student. It takes input from real life industrialists as to how the course can be modifed and what are the present or future demands of an industry from its employee.
Internships Opportunities :
As the campus is not located in a metropolitian city, the offline internship opportunities are less. But there are online internship opportunities. Students get internships in companies involved in tech or finance and even management and consulting. The stipends are good for a college student.
Placement Experience :
From 7th semester the students become eligible for campus placements. Many companies like Google, Facebook come to our college for placements to pick best of the students for their companies. The highest offer was about 2.68 crores. A large amount of students get placements but Many students try to get off campus placements too, via providing the company their CVs and applying for their interviews. My plans after the degree is to startup my own company.
Fees and Financial Aid :
The fees which I will be paying for this semester only is about 1,56,750 rupees. It includes tuition fees of Rs. 1,00,000. Caution fees is Rs. 6000, which include institute , library and hostel caution fees. It has lab fees of Rs. 800. During registration by JOSAA counseling it is mandatory to pay a seat acceptance fees of Rs. 35000 this year. This registration fees is adjusted in the total fees. The hall establishment fees is Rs. 20130 and the mess fees is 14,500. For a person of SC/ST category or PwD, the tuition fees is waived. Also for UR/EWS/OB-NCL students if the annual income of the family is between 1 to 5 lakhs, 33% of tuition fees will be required and if the annual income is less than 1 lakh the whole tuition fees will be waived. There is a merit-cum scholarship by which 25% students can get sum of Rs. 1000/ month.
Campus Life :
The socult fests is Spring Fest. As the name suggests it is held in the month of February. The tech fest name is Kshitij which is the largest tech fest in Asia. These are all held at a large level also inviting various known artists of India. There are 50-60 societies in which the student can join via a selection process. These societies provide a great peer group and also the access to the seniors for any kind of help. Also this increases the bonding between the juniors and seniors.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facilities are very good. The rooms are spacious with attached balconies and good lighting and great internet connectivity. The bathrooms are well cleaned and there is even a washing machine for washing clothes. There is a shop inside the hall premises for all the necessary items and a night canteen which can help you at times when you don't like the mess food.
Admission :
I got different colleges but I had only applied for IIT kharagpur. Basically for IITs there is an exam called JEE which are held in two parts- JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. If you are generally in the top 10k ranks you have a good chance to join the IIT. The campus vastness and beauty along with the college being close to my home were the main reason to prefer this college over others,
Faculty :
The faculty to student ratio is good. Also the faculties are supportive and they open up a method by which we can contact them easily. For instance, some profs have shared their number or others are active on gmails or microsoft teams. I liked a prof named Aurobindo Raut Ray, who teaches us Basic Electrical Engineering. He is proficient in his subject and we get a first hand knowledge from him as he had also assisted people involved in the field in real lige industries. There are two main exams - mid sem and end sem. Besides there are class tests, regular tutorial sheets which we have to submit to the teaching assistant then on basis of which there is also marks. They are a bit difficult but can be managed. Almost all the students perform well in these exams. The course curriculum is best as it has also insights from real life industries that what they want as a industry. This makes the course very relevant in todays world.
