- The thing that I liked the most was the taste of the food that we get in the mess, which gives us very tasty food.Drinking water is fresh and pollution free.
- This is a running free campus. Our seniors are very friendly. Seniors guide us on our mistakes and help us to correct them.
Dislikes
- The size of our campus is quite small compared to other NITs. We have only one playground, we do not have separate grounds for football and cricket.
- We have very few festivals and clubs, so it is difficult to organize them in this small campus.
Course Curriculum Overview :
For BTech, I have chosen the department of Electrical Engineering, the main reason for this is that the placement of NIT Patna's Electrical branch is quite good, its average placement is around 13 lakhs
Placement Experience :
Campus placement starts after our 7th semester. Students in the 4th year are allowed to sit in the placement round. The companies that visit here are Google Flipkart, facebook , Microsoft,Paytm, Amazon,Wipro,Deloitte,Reliance ,Byjus, Atlassian etc.. The highest placement for NIT patna ever was 1.6 cr ,which was an off campus placement secured by a student of NIT Patna. Percentage of student getting placed:: 85-90% After getting the degree, I will also sit in the placement round and accept the campus placement offers.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For a general category student, the overall fees for four year B-tech programme is as follows: First semester fee - 1,56,750 3rd 5th 7th semester fee-1,04,550 2nd 4th 6th semester fee -1,03,750 8th semester fee -1,08,250 Fee format is as: Institute Caution Money- 10,000 Tuition fee-62,500 Admision fee-4000 Registration fee -1500 Development fee-30,000 Lab fee-750 Training and placement fee -2000 Examination fee -2000 The fee for this college is nearly constant,not increasing at faster rate. For a undergrad who belong from a SC/ST category or is lying under the category of having family income less than 1laks per annum,has a different fee structure,as follows: 3rd 5th 7th semester -42,050 2nd 4th 6th semester - 41,250 8th semester - 45,750.. Tution fee is remitted for such students.
Campus Life :
Our NIT campus is quite small, around 33 acres, so we do not have a very big playground People play all the games on the same ground, so it is a bit difficult. The name of the annual fest here is Corona and Melange. We have a central library available where we get almost all the books , if we don't find anything then we can file it in an application and ask for it.
Hostel Facilities :
In the hostel room we are given two tables and two chairs. Our room has 3 seats, so there are three beds.We have three almirah also for Three person each. Meal quality is very good.Almost all the food is tasty . Our hostel incharge signs the mess allotment paper, after which we get a mess ID card.With this mess card we get food three times a day. The rent in a pg near NIT Patna is Rs 2500 per month
Admission :
I wanted to do electrical from NIT Jamshedpur, but my rank was not enough to get it, so I could not get it. Finally my seat is confirmed in NIT Patna.The main reason for choosing this college is its good placement percentage for me. For Electric branch its average package stands around 13 lakhs.. The process of admission in NIT Patna is done through JOSAA/CSAB, allotment of colleges and branches is done as per the rank of the student.
Faculty :
The faculty to student ratio in NIT Patna is 1:17. Our faculties are very supportive and they are easily reachable.They guide us on our innovative ideas ,help us in our workshops. Teh faculty I liked the most is our Dean sir P.K Jain sir .The main reason that made him my favourite faculty is their familiar teaching style. There is not a single faculty that I hate . Our first exam is called mid semester which takes place in September. Then the second one is called end semester which takes place in December. It depends on the teacher whether he is a surprise or not.
