Academics and the syllabus are good here.
Since the campus is in the city, you get access to every part of Chennai easily

The infrastructure here is so small, like you go around the same four wall throughout the year.
Hostel rooms could have been cheaper here.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course course have been more practical and engaging rather than just sitting in a class room and reading through the lines. Lab teaching are good but, teacher student interactions could have been better.

Internships Opportunities :

There is a website the make you register for, thee website gathers your information and sets up your profile and sents you regular updates and notifications of the companies that are coming and intership oppertunitues so they are good

Placement Experience :

According to the college students can take up placement interviews at the 7tg semester. But on your own interest you can take up internship when ever you want. Taking up internships through college is what they prefer but it's not a must.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

SRM Ramapuram is a good college when it comes to academics part. Even though it does not have a big campus like ktr this campus is compact and sufficient for you academic side. When it comes to things apart from academic like your extra curricular activities it's on a down side, there are no grounds for sports rather they have a indoor play area. Cultural events are very rare.

Campus Life :

Infrastructure is a small here, you don't have big big areas like in ktr campus, we have annual fests called texus. There are technical clubs actively held. But non technical clubs don't function properly

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel are very decent. Foods are decent to. But comparing the fee given the service could have been better. It costs around 150000 for non AC and 240000 for the ac rooms here. I prefer non AC because they are pretty good

Hostel Fee : INR 145000 per year

Admission :

I did apply to other colleges like VIT, i even got admission there but i didn't get the course i preferred, so i joined SRM. Addmission process is online, you have to take up the SRMJEE entrance exams clear it and get in the college. Students prefer SRMJEE too, according to the cut offs the course will be given.

Faculty :

You get to have 4 unit tests before every semester, every students pretty much pass all the exams. Very rarely one or two students fail to clear a paper. Exams are properly organised and scheduled here.

Review of placement

Placement Experience:

From 5th senester students are eleigible for the placements. So your 5th semester cgpa is very important. This college provide placements from companies like zoho, accenture, tcs , hexaware, mitsogo and more. The highest package is 12Lakhs and lowest package us 3lakhs.60 percentage of students are getting placed each year. Its fully depend on your skills. My plan is to place in campus placements for a web developer role.

Panimalar : A paradise For The Learners

Placement Experience:

The students get eligible fro the placements and attends interviews from the sixth semester. And the college starts to provide special placeement training from the end of the sixth semester. Even I'm still not eligible to attend the college placements, I hear a lot from my seniors about the placements. From those informations, some of the major and high paying companies like Accenture, Infosys, Sutherland often approach college for the placement. I have no knowledge about the highest package but average package could be ranging from 5,00,000 to 6,00,000 LPA. The highest number of students that are getting placed are from Dept. of AI&DS. With overall count of students attending more than 50% students passes the aptitude and reasoning test round, 15% of students passes the Group Discussion round, and only 5-6% students passes the HR round and getting placed. I personally started to hate these 9-5 jobs after hearing from the seniors who got placed in so called "best IT companies". So, my short term plan is to get placed in a high paying IT company and work till i get fired by any means. My major and long term plan is to start a business with all the savings that I've saved from my job.
