Fee structure was high for our masters programme. It could have been a little less.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I want to become a faculty of botany so i choose masters in botany course for my higher studies. The curriculum prepares students to gain a good knowledge about the subject to deliver the knowledge to others students after completion. However it will be more beneficial if some net/ slet based guidance will be provided along with the course

Class Size : 15Course Fees : INR 100000 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

In first year 50000 then in next year 50000 There were extra fees for exams like registeration fee, semester final exam fee etc. Fees for all categories students was same but scholarship to economically weaker category students have been provided through government schemes.

Campus Life :

Annual college week, annual foundation day celebration, silver jublee celebration, teachers day celebration, freshers party, saraswati puja. Books and journals of various authors, newspaper are available at library. Computer learning centre for computer education.

Admission :

You have to complete bachelor in botany to take admission in masters in botany. After appearing in pg entrance exam of gauhati University, merit lists will be published. Forms will be out from B.barooah college and then students will be admitted to course according to merit list of university pg entrance exam.

Faculty :

Faculty to student ratio was good. Faculties pay enough attention to each student. They taught us both theories and practical knowledge of all the topics. Digital screen, advance facility labs were provided for better learning experience. Every student can interact with faculties directly regarding any problem or queries they have.

Assam University through my vision

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course and curriculum are good but it has no importance in own state for which the students have to go to the other states for their higher qualification and to get a stable job. It boosts the level of knowledge and intelligence in students.

An inside look at Assam University

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think the course is relevant in every aspect. It included everything necessary for any competitive exams. They take presentations, make us do assignments, take us to study trips. The curriculum is doing very well in making us prepare for the real World. I think study trips should be increased and given utmost importance. There were 4 semesters in 2 years, so each semester in 6 months. The questions were relevant and important.

Entrance Preview:

IIT JAM, with 180 rank and got IIT Guwahati in first cutoff. So, after discussed with my parents, teachers, I go for IIT-G only.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good and being a part of M.Sc. course got offer from most of the college universities, like MDU, Guwahati university etc. Also, some students got admission in Phd after clearing GATE/NET exam with very good score.
