Experience of college life

SS

Remarks :

I choose to attend this college because it's one of the best options in the entire North- Eastern Region. Experienced faculty. Great Alumni. Although I opt for this course there are some bad aspects also, the syllabus offered in the course is not up to date although it is revised now. The marking pattern is not liberal. The admission process is quite easy. The college offers both offline and online admission process. The admission process usually starts in the month of June. Regarding the admission forms and all the details are notified through the official website of the college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I choose this course so that I can have a better understanding of the subject and this course tries to provide me with the same. As far the teacher-student ratio is a concern, it is 1:12 in the Economics major class and in the elective subjects it differs from each subject to the other. All the faculties of this course are highly qualified as they are appointed under the UGC qualification criteria. Most of them have a Doctorate degree. The teaching method of the faculties is traditional although the classes are very interactive. In the whole semester there two exams one mid term and another is the final exam.

Placement Experience :

There is no placement cell in the college. Most of the students can get placement on the basis of their capabilities and drive.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is quite feasible compared to private options. The students have take admission every year with a fee of almost 6000 and students also have to pay around 1200 rupees for examination form fill up in each final exam. Except for the student aid fund there is no specific scholarship offered by the college. Although, the student can choose to apply for one of the scholarships offered by the government. In the campus, there is no job opportunity.

Campus Life :

There are basically two main annual fest- college week and Youth Conclave. Apart from them, there is Bhola Baruah regional level debate competition and many more. The student's union have their designated secretaries for various extracurricular activities and virtual clubs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose philosophy as my major course as I want to learn about the things we experienced and the way they are the curriculum prepares me well enough to overcome in my day-to-day life I haven't faced any need for improvement in the teaching method. Exams were indeed a difficult task as a student, we hardly had a week to prepare ourselves for the examination.

Course Curriculum Overview:

history is interlinked with all subjects. It describes the social formation, decision and mistakes that shapes the world. it gives moral values and mistakes that shouldn't be carried out again. The subject is very interesting and should be considered once.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose BA because of peer pressure, but it wasn't so bad because you can go in any direction. Real world application isn't a thing of the course. But it can help you if you want to study further. Classes have digital boards, that's a plus. Each semester consists of 1 sessional exam and 1 final exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is of 3 year long duration. There's a total of 14 papers and each semester we get specific papers according to our sem ( ex: sociology of religion, sociology of gender, kingship, stratification, etc.) + we have a Generic subject. With generic in every semester we had a compulsory subject with our honors and Generic, indeed it was something new that we learned.

Course Curriculum Overview:

About the course curriculum, I still wonder why they have to put science subjects on the course curriculum of arts students. They would say it's a basic course but it is definitely not. Those arts students came there to learn their main subjects. I think it is unnecessary to put sc subjects there plus it is not basic. Otherwise the main subjects' curriculum is pretty well organised and planned.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like the subject english that is why I chose this course, I'm studying ba in English and i will do post graduation in also english, but in our department student teacher relationship is not good enough, I can't communicate with my department's professor as much. The other problem is last year we gave 3 semesters exams together in a year which should be held after 6months, I would like to request the authorities to give concern about that.
