You need to pass CET exam for that in Kerala . It is kerala's 2nd best college after trivandrum College.
I got here through PMSSS as I am from j&k. In the college I was able to see what really engineering is and they made us perform every engineering experiment mentioned in syllabus. KTU is no doubt a tough university to pass but it makes u engineer .

If you are non malyali then language can be a barrier
Climate is very hot and if you are used to cold climate like me then struggle is real for you

Course Curriculum Overview :

You need to get 75 points for extra curricular activities without this degree is not valid and u won't get degree. You will have to clean parks, teach students,do survey etc Moreover u will be required to participate in programs

Class Size : 60Course Fees : INR 18000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

You can do internships I don't know about other departments but in civil engineering when I was there i worked under PP SIVAN engineer and Sandeep sir manager . We worked at zoological park puthur and it was absolutely fun. Moreover we worked on a road at Goa as well

Placement Experience :

In 7th semester you will be able to take part in placement drives Hundreds of companies are coming to college e.g TCS , Tata, reliance, etc Percentage is almost 70-77 but it is minimum in civil engineering (less than 20%)

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees hike is very less as it is govt college so you don't need to worry about fee. But exam fee is 250 per subject and in case of revaluation u will have to submit 600 and for review 1000 and for recheck with answer script 5000

Campus Life :

There are many festivals being conducted e.g Dyuti, fulcrum , cubox, building blocks, anaily, etc There are two liberraies one is departmental library and central library. You will face smart boards, projectors etc Two stadiums are there in college. Social and emotional life is totally awesome

Hostel Facilities :

In hostel you will get one bed, one table,chair,fan, charging point, there are 5 hostels viz ABCDE each one with 3 floors and security guards. Food is awsome in breakfast you will get idli,sambar,dosa, puri,utapum etc and in lunch rice, curry, sambar, vegetable, pickle, beef, chicken, biryani,fish,dal etc Yes many rented PG rooms are there e.g MEA hostel nearby for muslims only

Hostel Fee : INR 10000 per year

Admission :

You have to pass local Kerala exam after 12th . On merit base you can go there otherwise you can't join this college. Reserved candidates are getting some benefit Time will be conducted every 6 months for regular candidates and for supplimentary candidates it will be after one year except 7th semester on wards

Faculty :

Placement Experience:

Yes,Students will get placement from 7th semester.Many companies like Infosys,Wipro,TCS etc come for placement.Most of the companies hire in bulk from the college.Lowest CTC was 300k annually and highest CTC was 1000k annually.Almost 60 percentage students are got placed from here.Apart from placement many students prepare for all india exams like GATE,SSC JE etc

Very Good University to study

Placement Experience:

The students from S6 are eligible for placement. Almost all the companies are IT-related companies. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Cognizant and UST visit the campus every year and hire a huge number of students. The average package is 4LPA with the highest being at almost 30LPA. Almost 60% of staff are getting placed. The CGPU provide training for aptitude and technical tests Also, some students get offers from good universities for higher education

Best college for pursuing engineering degree

Placement Experience:

Campus placements starts generally from the seventh semester in the fourth year. Nehru institutions have a lot of hold with multinational companies so a lot of companies like TCS, BPL, Amazon are offering placements to students who have no back papers. The highest package offered by companies is 9lakhs per year and the average salary is 4000/month. Mainly placements are offered to computer science engineering students comparatively.

Seeing St. Thomas through my eyes

Placement Experience:

The only student from the 4th year was eligible for campus placements. Every year nearly 88% of students got placed. Our batch was also not an exception. Most jobs were taken up by cse stream followed by our stream. Companies visited included Infosys, Cognizant Technology Solutions,ITC Infotech, Odessa Technologies, and others. The highest package of 5 lakhs was offered by Infosys.Cts offered 4 lakhs highest. The average package offered to all was 3 lakhs per annum.ITC offered 3.6 lakhs per annum. My plan after getting a degree was to join the job of CTS. Then I had dreams of an MBA in the future if possible since it would attract higher packages in the future. Many friends of mine got double offers. There were offers from. Sonodyne, Vodafone also. Since I got a job already,I didn't seat for Vodafone. Vodafone also offered a handsome package of 4 lakhs per annum.ZTE operations also took few students from our college

Remarks:

CET is one of the top colleges in the country. Faculties are the best. The college has the best placement records too. The location of the college is good too. Various fests are conducted to boost the cultural and technical skills of the students. I opted this course because I liked the course and our college contain the best faculties too. And the lab has good facilities where you can learn a lot.

Government College Of Engineering Kannur for a first year student

Remarks:

Has a good infrastructure with lots of trees and plants. Natural lighting is available so no need of artificial lighting Doesn't have an elevator. So it would be a problem for people in wheel chair. Less parking facilities
