The college provides facilities above private colleges due to the powerful alumni group and strong teaching staffs
Course Curriculum Overview :
Considering the current NIT I'm studying, the curriculum is really strong which is supported by a bunch of good teachers. The compulsary two week training and design paper in last two semesters are real benifit and worthey for a young proffesional. The use of perry, chemical engineering hand book you can often see in any professional colleges.
Placement Experience :
There were special training for students in third year for placement drives. The major companies recruit from chemical engineering department are the Bharat pertolium corporation limited and Reliance Industries Limited. The total percentage of students used to get placed are huge since IT Companies run their mass recruitment drives in campus.
College Events :
The National level multi fest conducted by the college is named Dyuti. Participants used come from huge number of colleges mainly from kerala. There are a huge number of events like ISTE annual expo. State level worksops by IEEE, NSS etc. Cultural fest called confluence. The students and teachers giveimportance to social commitment as well. The youth festvel for differently abled called 'Sparsham' is example for this. The meanong of social engineer is really explained by GEC, Thrissur.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
This is a government college. In my year the yearly fee was around 5800 rupees per year i remember. There will be a additional expense less than 10000 when you join. Hostel rent is just 200 per month and mess fee will be around 2000 if you take full day. There is no additional fee for chemical engineering and fee structure is fully transparent and clear.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I got central sector scholarship of 10000 rupees per year for three year. Last year the amount was 20000 but none of us got it due to some governmental issues. The college parents and teachers association as well as alumni association supports needy students according to their financial status. The ammount will bw depending on the students financial backups.
Campus Life :
In my class the ratio was 5:2 with majority of male students. College give importance to extra carricular activities. Students were made responsible for functioning of various clubs and college used to conduct state level programmes. There is counselling cell as well as women empowerment cell. There are more than 3 political party student units and elections are conducted every year.
