NMIMS - A Fresher's Review

Dislikes

  • I don't like the timings.1:30-5:30. Takes up the whole day.
  • I don't like the strictness. No shorts or skirts allowed, it's not that fun.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Some subjects are redundant. Like in BBA classes, they're teaching us about Mahabharata, Ramanayana and dharma and whatnot. I don't get how it's relevant to management studies. Coursework is light as college has only started.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Tuition fee varies coursewise. There's no scholarships or such available and your education has to be funded by yourself only. So fees may be around 10-12L foe the entire course but the thing is it's expensive living in Mumbai, as NMIMS doesn't have a good hostel itself.

Campus Life :

The library is decent, and the facilities like classrooms, canteens etc are good too. There's various clubs and social groups run by seniors. I'm not sure of them as my induction is yet to happen. Campus life is fine- there's no real campus though.

Admission :

So anyone can apply. People from humanities and science streams have to take bridge classes but the course remains open to all. There's only an entrance exam, NPAT, to be taken and admission is awarded on the basis of its result.

Faculty :

So it's only my third week here, but it's been good. The teachers and good and pretty qualified. They're very helpful and are good at what they teach. They're alumni's of reputable institutes and though they're strict, they're fair.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as I am very much interested in the extravagant world of business. I have chosen finance as my elective and curriculum is very much relevant to real world applications. The frequency of exams is manageable but there are no holidays between exams for each subject which can become very hectic for last minute learners. Teachers should take more initiative to make sure that all the notes are available to all students through online platforms so that anyone who failed to attend a lecture will not be left behind.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Bms is all about management studies and I was curious to learn about companies and actually how it works. There are various faculty members according to the courses. There enough teachers behind students. Talking about qualifications of faculty most of them have completed masters degree and even phd holders. Teaching style is outstanding. They make us understand in quite simple language. If student attend class atleast 75% then it is not tough to get pass in exams. There is enough time to complete the syllabus and revise it.

Placement Experience:

Plans are done once the understudy is graduated anyway the understudy gets a passage level position. The understudy starts getting a section-level position the subsequent he enters college. 2) I have visited numerous associations, for instance, the Asian business attempt organization, Big hammer sports affiliation. 3) I am not a graduated class yet so I don't ponder the typical group. 4) 90 Percent of understudies get a plan. 5) I will do an errand in games the leaders association and work for a year and a short time later overwhelm and thereafter become a monetary subject matter expert.

By the end of second-semester teachers make their students ready for the placement. A company like Accenture, Seimens, Capgemini, gebbs, gave the opportunities in this college for placement, the average package is 4 lakh per annum and highest is 25 lakh per annum. Students percentage is quite high getting placement from college.
