NM College admissions for all courses (except BMS) are offered based on marks secured in the qualifying examination in both categories. However, the college is now taking admission for the BMS program through a Common Entrance Test by State Cell Maharashtra (MH-CET) as per the new guidelines by Mumbai University. NM College admission process is as follows:

Step 1: Register Online and Complete the Application

Students seeking admission to the Degree College must fill the pre-admission enrolment form of the Mumbai University admission portal and then the online application form for admission on the NM College official website (nmcollege.in) once the HSC/12th Board exam result is out and the University of Mumbai declares the schedule of admission. The completed application form has to be submitted along with all required relevant documents online.

  • Students are required to register on the site of the Academic Bank of Credit (abc.gov.in) as it is mandatory.
  • For In-House Students (BCOM) Aided Courses: Candidates should fill in the online Pre-enrollment form of the University of Mumbai from under the Autonomousl category, as N M College is an autonomous institution & take printouts.
  • For Self-financed programs, the In-house category DOES NOT apply.

Step 2: Merit List Announcement

After the registration process is complete, the college will release merit lists for shortlisted candidates for admission. The college usually releases 3 merit lists on its official website for each program to fill the seats. If seats remain vacant, the college will conduct spot admissions.

Step 3: Verification of Document & final admission

Candidates whose names appear on the merit list are required to report to the college for document verification. Once the verification is done, candidates will be offered admission after paying the required admission fee.

Admission:

Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics is one of the finest colleges in Maharashtra and also in India. I had chosen this college due to its excellent academic records and the feedback from many seniors of mine who were the alumni of this college. Also this college has good placement in comparison to other comments in Maharashtra if not india. I had even given IPMAT and NPAT, I could crack IPM but had gotten admission into NMIMS, still I preferred NMCCE as it was more economical and still good enough for a bachelors degree as I also wanted to do CFA alongside Our college trans admission on the basis of 12th percentage. BCom is the flagship course of our college and BMS is the most sort after course in the college. The cut off for this course can go as high as 95%.

The admission process is straightforward. There are no issues. However, the cut-off is relatively high for Bachelor of Commerce. Gujarati reservation is available. The exam system is 75 end semester exams, 15 marks assignment (includes presentation), and 10 marks internal test.

Admission:

So I gave CUET which is the Common University Entrance Test for NM with equal weightage to the board examination. The admission process was completely online, being an outstation student it was quite convenient for me. And considering the cut-off, I'm not very sure but it must've been above 95 percentile. The admission forms that are to be filled are the MU form available on the MU website, and then NM course form, which the college will provide after you're selected for the course.

Admission:

The candidate should have passed his 12th class from any recognised board. The admission can be secured through either General category or through Gujarati Minority. The fees for both of them are same. For the AY 2024-25 Mah-CET is taken for BMS admissions. Difficulty level is easy to moderate. Application form is available in the official website.

Admission for BCom and other self-financed courses are done on the basis of class 12th score of students. Only for BMS students have to give CET exam. This was for academic year 2024-25. The process might change later on. All the admission related information is available on college's official website. The CET exam is conducted once a year.

Admission:

the course is eligible for everyone who have passed their 12th exam and gained a percentage above 40/45% all the application forms are available on the college website, we must first register with the mumbai university since it's a mumbai university affiliated course the cut offs depend on the amount of students applying for the specific course hence it varies but it's last list stops around 70-75 for outsides and for in-house students it's easily available i feel the admission process should be made easier, applying for so many colleges with so many entrances is confusing and hectic for every student

Can I do a CA with a BCom from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai?

Sakshi Gupta
Piyush AgrawalSVKM's NMIMS (2020)

Definitely, you can do both CA as well as B.Com at the same time from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. However, managing both at the same time will be difficult.

The college has a very strict attendance policy of 75%. So basically you will need to attend classes every day. Living in a city like Mumbai, traveling to and fro to attend lectures, managing studies along with a job is not something that everyone can handle. Even if your attendance percentage is slightly lower than 75% the college will debar you from giving exams and may even expel you from the program. Some students even develop health issues due to such a rigorous schedule.

Now, these are the problems with doing CA and B.Com at the same time. But if you can handle the pressure, then definitely you should do it.

How did you manage your B.Com. while studying for the IPCC/finals? Was your attendance always above 75% at Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics?

Anapeksha RoyStudies Economics at Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics

My sister is an alumnus of NM College and she shared some tricks regarding attendance which you may find useful. In NM College, you will not get your attendance, if you miss the first lecture.

For eventually maintaining both B.Com and your IPCC finals, you should check for the subjects that you rather find uninteresting, and skip those lectures to study on your own. Other than that, if you consider taking a one day leave in the week, spend that by studying individually, instead of doing other insignificant chores.

There is no regulation whatsoever regarding a student not being allowed to sit in the college library after the lecture period is over. In the library, you will find planty of company even at 7 P.M.

Also, even if you go on to miss one lecture a week, you will still be maintaining 75% as the average, or sometimes, even more. Hope this helps you.
