Entrance Preview :
because I wanted to choose that type of field which will be unique for me and I can research in a particular field so I choose forestry which is decreasing day by day I wanted to choose a field through which I can protect the environment and reduce deforestation.
Course Curriculum Overview :
there are many courses regarding different fields of forestry there are divisions in the faculty and under there divisions there are many courses such as siliculture agroforestry biometry forest protection etc there are around 70 courses in all 4 semesters
Internships Opportunities :
there is no internship but there are MSC Ph.D. degrees and in which a student can research and explore his knowledge
Placement Experience :
The placements are very much in number we can take exams like IFS IAS KAS Banking RANGE OFFICERS ACFs like gazetted posts and also non gazetted posts it depends on how a student performs in his studies and how he studies and hard work there are much job opportunities depending on hard work of the student
College Events :
There are different events occurring in our college like sports events cultural events annual day management programmes awareness programmes and student welfare programmes. There are held different functions for farmers and for forest departments and fields.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is bit expensive but there are two types of seat matrix open merit which a middle-class person can afford and there is self-finance quota which is bit difficult and expensive for a middle-class person but is bearable because the fees are not much high.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
there is no scholarship given by college but there may be scholarships from government and loan facility will be from the government.
Campus Life :
the campus life is best u can easily study on the library the campus is free from noise there is almost equal gender ratio. there are extracurricular activities done experiments done in labs there are debates and competition programmes held every month for which awards are given.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel is in good conditions and there is proper management of electricity water supply and other basic facilities the mess is also good and best cooks are there best food is provided and in proper sanitation the person can make his choice of food by his own.
Alumni/Alumna :
yes, seniors are very much helpful in providing guidelines and other activities occurring in the college.
Exam Structure :
there are two exams held in a 6 month semester one is midterm which is of 50 marks divided into 30 midterm exam 15 practical and 5 assignment and there is external 50 marks exam paper which comes from other universities and evaluated by external examiners.
Admission :
first I gave the entrance exam which is called SKUAST CET which was of 135 marks and there was no negative marking and I got 73 marks in the test then there was procedure of counseling held in three rounds and candidates were selected according to their rank but on the basis of their field chose then I choose forestry and I paid fees and went to the specific college
Faculty :
It is on a great site in around 500 canals the site is far from the noise that is coming from vehicles or other industries and there is the field on which experiments are done there is administration blocks classes and many other facilities there is best air fresh coming there are many research fields.
