I liked the environment,the people.
The teachers are really helpful to us and rather solvies each problem we face and give us guidance and advices regardless of what we face

Dislikes

I dislike the attendance thing...which main not only calcutta university but more or less each university has...

Course Curriculum Overview :

1)My decision towards taking this course started from class 11...I always wanted to fight rather provide justice and to know the citizens point of view and to provide the citizens of the country justice... 2)The curriculum really prepared us really well ... revisions after revisions helping us to understand each and everything in very simple and easy language... 3)I am no one to give suggestions as each thing about the teaching method of the teachers are splendid 4) The difficulty level is surely there but even after that the teacher manages us well though doubt clearing classes so that we feel easy

Class Size : 60Course Fees : INR 12000 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

1)Tuition fees strikes among 12k 2) Everything will be done under 2 lakhs 3) there are alot of scholarships alloted for the students 4) The job roles responsibilty provided over here is enormous and well sculptured

Campus Life :

1)There are alot of journal's, different types of books regarding the great history the civics and the rights of the citizens available in the library 2) Technological wise it has a great innovative interractive classes taking place 3) We have annual sports day,inter college debate and inter college quiz competitions and lots more 4) Our college in non political so there is no club organised

Admission :

1Above 70 percent is needed 2) no reservations facilites are availed by me 3) there is internals amongst each semester and there is the semester exam taking place there is no difficulty as the teachers are helpful in there perspective

Faculty :

The faculty is really helpful and rather solves each problem which are faced by the students and rather helps and guides the students...The mentorship and guidance provided is impressive... Approaching the teachers and they actually listen to the doubt we face and rather tries their level best to solve the problems faced by us..

Placement Experience:

Every course enjoys placement facilitis from this university except the law department since the law students need to clear the All India Bar Examination in order to get the license to practice in courts. The course subjects as well as the teachers prepares us for these kind of AIBE or Judiciary exams.

University of Calcutta is a legal paradise!!

Placement Experience:

Eligibility begins in the final year, when many high court chambers of Kolkata comes and recruit students of our university. Besides that corporate houses like the ITC, the Sanjeev Goenka Group and others have also been a partner of college for several years now. Salary offered isn't that Impressive but the number of students getting placed is as 70% students do get placements.

Department of Law - The Best Law College In West Bengal

Course Curriculum Overview:

Law as a course has developed throughout the years and there are only a few shortcomings in the studying aspect of it. Law, in a broad sense, can be applied to almost each and every problems that citizens of India face, be it corporate law, criminal, civil law. In an even broader sense, there is Constitutional law. A major fault in the teaching and course is the excessive teaching of landmark judgements and lesser number of moot courts which in practice might land young lawyers in trouble coming from the judiciary since they're just too much aware of different landmark judgements but not the cases/context behind it. Mainly, four exams are held which concern the actual marks- Internals and Externals. First internal and external is typically held on January or February and Second internal and external during July or August.

The only St. Xavier's University, Kolata Review that you will ever need

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I believed that I had the necessary skillset required for this course and wanted to get better at those. Law is a very interesting subject and it has always piqued my interest so it was quite easy for me to choose it. The faculty-student ratio is good enough for the subjects taught each semester. For example, for a section of 60 students, each subject has an average of 2 teachers. Some important subjects mainly the law subjects have 3 faculty. All main faculty have a PhD degree in their fields and the assistant professors or the other faculty have varying qualifications from PhD to Masters in their fields. The exams are held very timely, for law we have 2 exams one is a short exam called the CIA (Continuous internal assessment) and the end-semester exam. They were of moderate difficulty but ultimately if one followed the words of the faculty like gospel then the exams were easy enough.

Why you should go for a government college!

Course Curriculum Overview:

I pursued this course because I always wanted to see myself being a person who can help the poor and this law profession gives enormous opportunities for this and you can become a philanthropist The faculty is great all teachers are experienced and listen to our queries and doubts. They cooperate with us. The exams are held every six months. There are 10 semesters and if one wants to get the honors ballb degree they need to perform well in the first and second year respectively and among them, the best 15 students will get the honors seat
