Course Curriculum Overview :
I have loved law from outset. University of Calcutta is best for legal studies as we even get extra marks of we get a letter of appreciation from our internship. This makes internships compulsory and plus an extra motivation too.
Placement Experience :
Eligibility begins in the final year, when many high court chambers of Kolkata comes and recruit students of our university. Besides that corporate houses like the ITC, the Sanjeev Goenka Group and others have also been a partner of college for several years now. Salary offered isn't that Impressive but the number of students getting placed is as 70% students do get placements.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees is 3 lakhs plus for the entire course and yearly it is 65000. For SC/ST students flat 50% scholarship and also merit based students too get 20-40% scholarship. Fees is quite nominal as the Heritage Law College is among the best in Kolkata.
Campus Life :
Well, university of Calcutta offers a well-rounded learning environment as events and extra curricular activities are in abundance here. Law festival and other cultural festivals are on song here. Engaging events like the most courts competition and other quiz and all are conducted throughout the year. Students of other colleges and universities are also invited time to time. There's a moot court society and legal aid cell in the university which are a part of our curriculum.
Admission :
Admissions here are based just on 12th score. Since, I am a general category student, the cut-off was 78% while for reserved category it was 63%. Admission process is simple.as just 2 cut-off list and total batch size is of 240 students.
Faculty :
Lawyers understand law studies and therefore not just LLLM degree holders or PhD but our faculties are one who have been in action at the high court. So most of our teachers have practiced law at the second highest level.
