  • The college is comparatively smaller compared to other Govt Engineering college.
  • The parking space is also less, hence there is difficulty in parking sometimes when an event is conducted.

Course Curriculum Overview :

As my batch is under APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, we follow the syllabus that is as old as the branch itself. There isnt many advancement in our syllabus, we still study about those old machines we dont even use anymore in the real world But as for out junior batches as the academics have taken Autonomous nature they have better curriculum and course. We have an End Semester Examination and 2 Internal Examinations along with 2Lab exams, 3-5 assignments per subjects and 75% attendance in each subject for everysem. And in 7th and 8th Sem we have a gro project, comprehensive vivavoc and a seminar. We have relevant topics for design like Solid works software, autocad, matlab and Ansys to learn.

Placement Experience :

Form 7th semester onwards students are elgible for campus placements. Are there will be placement training in 6th Semester. Many software companies come everyyear including Wipro, TCS, SOTI etc. As for Mechanical Core Placwments there are completely less placement. Companies like L&T, Shobha Constructions,MRF Tyres etc recruit Mechanical Students. Amost 60-70% students get palces everywhere in non circuit branches and 70-80% in circuit branches. The avrg CTC is 4-5LPA and the highest CTC was as high as 32LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid :

As for Merit students there is an intial admission fee of 9000/- and from second sem onwards it is as low as 5-6k includong the tution and exam fee. So the total fee wil be less that 50000/-. There are 15% Management quitas. For them they have to pay an admission fee of 8-10lakh initially and then the normal fee structure as merit students. There are many scholorahips for the under previliaged and for the reservation category inckusing Egrantz and Premetrics. There is also no tution fee for OEC, SC, ST students. They are also exempted from the Exam fee upto 2 chances. The course is very affordable compared to Engineering in many other private colleges

Campus Life :

Campus life is pretty dope as any other Govt Engineering College. We have our Annual Techno Cultural Fest 'Hestia' which lasts for 4 days. We conduct many workshops, compitirions and influencers, singers and dj will ve oerformed. Everyone one in the cokkeg work together to make the event successful. We also have a well quipped centra library and department library with all the technical books required for the curriculum and also for compititive examinations. We have a Sports department active in our college and many athlets talented enough to participate in international events. The football team of TKM always win the Univernity Tournament championship. We also have many technical and nin technical clubs run by students including SAE, ASME, ISTE, Fiom and Drama club, Danceckub etc.

Hostel Facilities :

Even though the foid gets some complaint, the hostel is neat and clean. Theere is a curfew if 7.00 clock for first years and 9.30 for the remaining years. The central library is also opem till 9.00.U can either stay in the college hostel or take rental flats with your friends nearby.

Admission :

One can get admitted to the college based on KEAM score and rank. As TKM is among the top 3 colleges in Kerala, it is not easy to get a seat in the college, but with a little effort you can join secure a seat in the college. The cutoff for each caste and categoru is different. Hence is you have a reservation quota it is pretty easy to get a spot in the coloege. The counselling for the admission is done by 3 allotements. KEAM examination is conducted once every year.

Faculty :

Each class havetwo Advisors to advice in academic related matters. And each batch of the branch has a Senior Advisor who advocates for the batch to the HOD. The professors are well trained and knowlegable in their feild and many of them hold PhD Doctorals and some of our teachers even have doble PhD. Most of the teachers, especially in Mechanical Branch are very approachable and helpful.

Students are eligible for placement from semester 6. Many of the largest companies such as Cisco, IBM, Wipro etc come for placements. The largest package was 40 LPA from IT department and average package is 6 LPA. Last year's batch had placement percentage of 90%. My future plans are to try my best for placements, no plans for suture studies as of now.

Mostly the students get prepared for placements in the third year. Placement training is usually started in the mid of the third year. According to the passed out students and our seniors, the institution has enough good placements compared to other private institutions. The students get placed in MNCs like IBM, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, SAP, Wipro, CTS, IBS, UST Global, Government and Public Sector companies like BARC, ONGC, Powergrid, Delhi Metro and commercial banks like Federal Bank, South Indian Bank, Core Engineering companies like MRF, Apollo Tyres, Sobha, Procsys, Kalkitech etc speaks volumes about the professional excellence of students. The major activities of the Placement and Training Cell include coordinating the Campus placement activities of the college Conducting regular training for improving the soft-skills and conducting regular tests, GD`s and Mock Interviews. The major thrust area of the placement cell is training programs. Every student undergoes at least 150 hours of training programs which is spread across the years of study. They are trained by the best in the industry. Career guidance and placement orientation is ensured through sessions organised in-house and support from experts from outside. Guidance on how to prepare for various competitive exams like GATE, CAT, MAT, GRE, UPSC, PG entrance examinations etc. are also provided. Despite the economic uncertainties and industry challenges, the Class of 2024 achieved remarkable success in campus recruitment. A total of 78 students secured packages of 7LPA or more, with 484 offers from 76 companies. The highest package reached 15LPA, while the average package stood at a respectable 5.7LPA. Notable recruiters included TCS, CTS, SAP, Tataelxsi, People10, SOTI, UST, and Qburst. Core companies like Cadence, Schneider, Kalkitech, Procsys, Aarbee Structures, RDC, Saint Gobain, Dalmia, Walkaroo OEN, and Tejas Networks also hired students.

There are many programs to improve our placement capabilities. These programs provide spoken English classes and PMKVY Yojana classes. S6 and S7 students have the opportunity to attend placement sessions. The average package that the companies usually provide is 200,000 per annum. Usually, 10-15 students get placed in the first session, and the rest will be considered in the other upcoming sessions. I'm planning to do ethical hacking course after the degree
