- The college/s campus is very big, some 350 acres so that's good and some of the labs are very good and modern. the faculty is nice enough .the hostels are new and have good infrastructure , the messes are good. could be better. the classrooms are
- very good, in fact we have the biggest lecture hall in the whole of asia. the students admitted are nice and their roomamte policy of sharing a room with 2 other people is good, helps build connections for life.
Dislikes
- The messes are horrible, espically the h-14 mess, it's the worst. all the private messes are bad, the goverment ones are fine.the provide edible food atleast.
- some of the hstels are build at the end of the campus and that makes it much harder for students to get to claases or labs from their histels on foot.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Some of the courses are fine and much needed such as DBIS, ML, DSA, OOAD etc . And then some of the other courses such as social sciences, environment studies and courses like physics, engineering mathematics, chemistry etc are not required but still we have to study them, I am in CSE so I want to study stuff related to that not the stuff I have been studying for the past 3 years. at the end the curriculum prepared you just fine for the real world, just wastes your time. exams are every 1.5 months to 2 months, w exams in one semester, mid-terms and end terms.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are good, From the third year on a lot of companies arrive for interns, and most of them are CGps based on the field of SD. Stipends could go up to 95000-100000 per month for a 3-month internship from companies like Adobe, Amazon, Google, Goldman Sachs, etc. The average stipend is 35000-50000. Along with CGps, they require projects in the required fields.
Placement Experience :
Placements are good, for CSE, ECE, ELE, and Chemical branches it's better compared to the rest. average is higher than 10 lpa and higestet reaches as much as 60-70 lpa. companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Apple, Facebook, and all the other major companies arrive for placements. for the above branches almost more than 60-70 percent students are placed and for other branches almost 50 are placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
the fees vary a lot, for general students, it's 70000-80000, for ews it's 40000-45000, for SC and ST it's even lower like 5000-10000. or for girls, it's a bit lower compared to general male students and so on and so forth. for 4 years of college I would have to pay 70000 times 8 = 560000.
Campus Life :
Campus life is the best aspect of any NIT or IIT, students come from all over India, and they bring different cultures and then for the icebreaker 3 of them they are paired up and they live together in a room for the first year which is very good. There is a library and a student can borrow 4 books at a time from there. There are 3 major canteens with one being the night canteen. Almost every sports facility is here and activities are organized every 2 months or so. There are a lot of students runs clubs and you can have your pick.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostels are good, some of them are newly built and some of them a bit old. in the first year, 3 people share a room and in 2nd year every student gets a single room. Messes of the government hostels are fine but private messes are bad. to get a hostel, we pay the hostel fee with the semester fees and after a week we get an email confirming our hostel no. and our room number.
Admission :
the admission process was the simplest, we all gave jee mains and on the basis of ranks we got that in that exam,we would get our colleges and branches, let's say I had good enough rank for CSE at MNIT. During the registration day we took all the required documents to campus and there all the freshers were put ina room together and names were called, we would go once our names were called and submit all of the documents, after that hostels aware allotted and that's it.
Faculty :
The student ratio is 120:1, some of the faculty are very good, and they know a lot about their respective courses but some of them are very bad, they do not even care if students attend their classes and labs or not, they miss their classes daily, and when the exams arrive they make the hardest papers and later on say that that they provided the ppt and it's the students job to understand one semester worth of material all on their own from scratch as they are not in school anymore.
