- What i like about this Assam Don Bosco University is that the teachers are very friendly to the students which greatly enhance the learning atmosphere. I also like the way they taught us the lesson in the classroom.
- I also like the corporation between teacher staff and the student. There is no ragging to the Junior by the senior. The seniors encouraged us in any way possible.
Dislikes
- In this university what i don't like is that although the campus is sceneric it is smaller for university and also there is no football ground
- Campuses are very far from each other wich make it difficult to make friends with the other campuses. And there is also very little collaboration between these campuses though we are in same university.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I am interested in taking computer Application, the university have also provide with many opportunity to enhance our knowing which also made me to dive deep inside the realm of computer world. The curriculum provided are very helpful for me and i believe I will be able to solve anything in my coming future. The teacher are well educated and friendly we could understand what ever they taught us, they also make us understand what they taught us in any possible way. There is nothing to improve about the faculty but the university can improve the class room by providing new chairs and upgrade a little. The timing for exam and class doesn't effect my routine it is well set according and exam timing different fir each department which is very efficient and not crowded. They provide about two faculty in each exam hall during exam.
Internships Opportunities :
The training and placement cell of the University has been incorporated with the sole objective of minimizing the gap between industry and academia and giving the students training and exposure through which they can capitalize on every opportunity for placement. There are different time of project given to the student according to the department.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The tuition fees in this university is higher then what I expected, it would be difficult for middle-class student to effort like this university. We pay the tuition fees in the beginning of the semester and sometimes including the annual fee which is about half of the tuition fee. In one semester I spent 33000 for hostel fees and about ?41000 for the tuition fee excluding exam registration fee which is ?1000.there is a scholarship for student who have very hight CGPA and also student with physically challenged, they also refund about ?5000 to those student who graduate from Don Bosco institutions, other then that they also provide scholarship of about ?10000 for student whose parents have annual income of less then ?200000.
Campus Life :
There are many festival like food fest, de'vere sports, etc. Where the students are given opportunity to participate in many programs. The library is very big and any student are free to enter or acess the book for free. They library include many variety of books and researches and also current affairs which are open and free to acess for the students. The classroom have projector and a smart board including black board wich is enough for teaching and learning. There are also many clubs run by the students and the university give opportunity to each club to participate in various programs.
Hostel Facilities :
The food which are served in the hostel are not very healthy food. They need to serve different recipe which are better for the students. The wifi is also little slower. Play ground for volleyball, basketball and badminton is being provided and many other indoor games like chess, table tennis, etc. Which are in good condition for recreation for the students. The room are clean they provide single bedroom, double bedroom, tripple bedroom and dourmatry. The toilet need to be clean it for refurbished it as it is very old. The registration and fees for the hostel is affordable.
Admission :
The eligibility of the course, student can be from any stream who finished 10+2 with the minimum percentage of 50% and must take math as one of his/her subject in 10+2. They admission application is available in the university website. It is free for applying the admission. the fees structure and courses are also openly available in the website of assam Don Bosco university. The admission is to be paid online. The intrance exam is not very difficult, the question are mainly taken out from the secondary and higher secondary syllabus and anyone can crack the exam. If it is impossible for the applicants to go to the university they can also appear the exam through online. The admission is fair and there is nothing to be improve as fir me.
Faculty :
There are enough faculty members in each department. They are well qualified, many of them have professor and doctorate degree. They are very friendly, in fact they are one of the friendliest techer i ever have. We the students are free to approach them at any time. They are open minded and would help us in any possible way even beyond our syllabus. The teacher are very interactive to the student. We can approach them at anytime or can even ask them through whatsApp as they are also very active even beyond the school hours. The faculty encourage us to participate in many program conducted inside and outside the campus too.
