Course Curriculum Overview :

From my point of view, the course which is provided in the 1st year is really useless and irrelevant to our further studies and field except some course. The curriculum really doesn't prepare us for the real world subsequences. The things which are taught in the college are the things which are 30-40 years old things which were taught back then. So, the course and the syllabus must surely be modified so that the students can really face the real world problems. Coming to exams, the difficulty level of some papers are really very hard. So, the time for these papers should be greater compared to the other papers. Considering frequency of the exams, the number of exams held is too much. So, it should be decreased and the gap between two consecutive exams should be increased.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar provide valuable opportunities for engineering students to gain practical experience and industry exposure. Here's a review based on various aspects: Benefits: Industry Exposure: Internships allow NIT Silchar students to interact with industry professionals and understand the practical applications of their academic knowledge. This exposure is crucial for bridging the gap between theory and practice. Technical Skill Enhancement: Students have the chance to work on real-world projects, which helps in enhancing their technical skills. They often get to use industry-standard tools and software, which is beneficial for their future careers. Networking Opportunities: Interning at reputable companies or research institutions helps students build a professional network. This network can be valuable for future job opportunities, references, and mentorship.

Placement Experience :

The students becomes eligible for campus placements from their seventh semester. There are a lot of good companies that visits out college every year. Among them some are Amazon,TCS,KEC international, philps, etc. The highest placement is 1.86 crore from the department of computer science and technology and the average package is about 15 lakhs per annum. About 60-70 percent students were placed this year according to some sources. My plans - I'm thinking of starting my own business or some startup after completing by bachelor degree from National Institute of Technology Silchar.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Since it is a central government institute, the fees should be very less. But the fees of the institution is very high. The tuition fees increases a bit every year but it is not noticeable. For a general student, the overall fees and compulsory expenses come to be about 2.5 lakhs a year. Though the fees is very high, students can take benefit from the scholarship provided by various programmes and even government itself. The private scholarships are reliance, hdfc, samsung (girls),etc.

Campus Life :

The technical fest which is held in out college is called Tecnoesis. It is held in the month of October. It is a great technical fest celebrated each year. The annual fest is the Incandescence and is held in the month of February. It a very fun fest and many activities are held in this fest. The library of NIT SILCHAR is the biggest digital library in Asia. It has a whole range of books . It includes all the books that are required for our course . The sports facility in the campus is outstanding. There are seperate buildings, sports complex and sports ground for different sports. Sports is prioritised in our college upto a good level.

Hostel Facilities :

In first year, the students are provided the Aryabhatta and BH3 hostel with two students in a single room. The rooms are preety much good for the students to study and rest. Each room have two cupboard for storage of clothes and other stuff. The food quality in the mess is not so good. The food in the night is somewhat good as compared to the food in the day. Hostels are provided to each and every student during the time of physical reporting and about 22,500 rupees is taken from one student for each semester for the hostel and mess. There is no such room or pg near the college. So everyone should stay in college hostel itself.

Admission :

Minimum criteria -Every student of the general, obc category must get above 75% marks in the 12th boards and sc,st category must get above 65% marks in 12th boards to get admission into the college. To get admission into the college, every student must appear in JEE mains and according to their rank, counselling is done by JOSAA. The application form of the JEE mains can be found in the NTA official website. For counselling, you should visit the official website of JOSAA. Reservation details - Cutoff(General -93.23 percentile,EWS-81.32 percentile,obc-79.67 percentile,sc-60.09 percentile,st-46.69 percentile) in the year of 2024 The entrance exam is held twice a year in the months of January and April. The difficulty level according to me is medium.

Faculty :

The faculty members are much qualified. Most of the faculty members have done their PhD s from IIT. Some of the faculties are really good and give interest in the development of the student. They also don't hesitate to give marks in the exams.

Other Applied Colleges

National Institute of Technology - [NIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)

The lone reason for selecting this college is the environment in which I can develop myself in all the aspects

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have choose EE because it's have both core and it features so i believe that I will go for core but if the situation changes then accordingly i will shift. The curriculum is pretty good in this campus according to me that's why I have choose this course. I don't think I have enough thinking level to suggest about that. Before exam there should be some gap for studies purpose I mean to say classes should be off. And everything is good.

Placement drives are held in December of every year for the students who complete their 7th semester. Placements are quite good over here, The highest package this year is 2.4 crore and the average package fluctuates between 20 to 25 LPA every year. One can also go for higher studies, there is no harm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My branch is Computer Science and Engineering. I am interested in computer skills like gaming, web development, coding, etc that's why I choose this course. In my college, every facility is provided like labs, sports ground and kits, medical facility, hostels and mess and, well educated and skilled faculty. Faculty : student ratio is around 1:50. Faculties are well experienced (Ph.D. holders) and have good teaching skills. But, I want to mention one thing that, you can't totally depend on the faculty, you need to pay extra effort by itself. B.Tech is of 4 years course that is divided into 8 semesters. Every semester 2 main exams are conducted. Exams are not much easy but also not too hard. You need to focus on academic too for decent pointers. If you are a sincere student then getting a good pointer is not hard.
