Truth about jims kalkaji

Dislikes

  • Things i disliked , first would be the campus size
  • Along with campus size , some faculties have their personal grudges with other faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is pretty helpful, it's not just the course but there are other things like outside certifications courses and recently the company named Grant Thornton came to college to teach us personally about the corporate world, how things work and all, the frequency of exams are like around 1.5 months of a gap then mid-term and then end term.

Internships Opportunities :

Companies like Delloite, Grant Thornton, loreal, and Federal Bank come for internships and provide stipends of around 10 to 30k for the students of the 2-month internship. The roles are many like finance, consulting, marketing and sales, etc.

Placement Experience :

The unique selling point of this college would be placement. Big companies come here for hiring and take a bunch if students among them, the students who have completed their first year are eligible to sit in placement Companies like Delloite, Black Rock, loreal, Federal Bank, MRF, and many more visit every year for placement with an average package of 8 to 9 lakhs. The highest package one student got is 33 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placed is 80-100 percent, depending on the time. My plans after my degree are the same as many students to get placed in a good company with a good package

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The scholarships are provided on the basis of entrance tests like the MAT, CAT, GMAT, etc. I got a scholarship of 100000 rs after considering my good MAT score. The fee structure of this college is pretty much decent as compared to the campus size but the quality is good and appreciable.

Campus Life :

The name of the annual fest is zest which happens around Feb and March. Yes, there is a library and that is in great condition. The facilities and technological provisions are present in the college. There are many societies in college along with the sports society, nss club, dance club, iic club, etc. which help students to evolve and learn.

Admission :

The eligibility of the course is to have 50% minimum marks in your undergraduate. The application form, fees, and any other information regarding admission are available on thier admission portal. The frequency timing of exams is after 1.5 months ( both mid-term and end-term). The areas of improvement would be a little bit more transparency among the students.

Faculty :

The qualifications of faculty members are pretty good, mostly all of them are doctorates. They offer weekly mentorship sessions. Sometimes alumni come and have a talk with the students, Faculties are always there to help us no matter what the time and place is. I often connect with my teachers personally like twice a week to ask for their mentorship.

Interview Experience :

Yes, we had GD and Pi before the admission. The topics were Entrepreneurial culture will ai take over the world, etc., some trendy topics basically. I prepare for these rounds by having knowledge of current affairs.

Placement Experience:

The placements of IIFT DELHI are at par with some of the old IIM's like Lucknow, Indore, Kozhikode. Iift is beast when it comes to finance and marketing. Every major international bank and every hedge fund visit the campus for recruitment. Also IIFT caters to some trade companies that only recruit from this college and don't visit any other campus in India. Last year 102 companies visited the campus , the median package was around 26 lakhs and average was around 27 lakhs. Highest package stood at 85 lakhs. And 100 percent placement was achieved. I'll be most probably going for working in a bank or a hedge fund after the degree

The Only thing this college is lacking about its placement cells. Students where running the placement cell and some teacher assist them to get opportunities based on their personal connections. But they don't have any particular department which is responsible for providing placement assistance.

Students are eligible for final placements in third semester and summer placements in the first semester itself. We have many big names here in the campus JP Morgan Chase and Co, Morgan Stanley, AON, ICICI Bank, Atomberg, Hindalco, Deloitte, KPIT, Samsung, etc. Almost all the students get placed here. I'd the percentage is above 90. The highest placement offered was 26LAC+ and the average stood at 14lacs. I am currently intern at a company via the college placements and am working towards getting a PPO. If I get one, I plan on staying in the same company.
