- first thing that i liked most is the big campus area of IIT Kharagpur which allows student to explore as many things as you want
- there are so many societies and clubs are there to enhance your qualities such as dancing ,singing,etc
Dislikes
- things that i disliked about iit kharagpur is everything is present inside the campus there is nothing to explore outside the campus
- there is a need of proper infrastructure outside the campus too as this problem of every engineering college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
if i wii consider about my course .my course is architecture and regional planning that i have taken on the qualification on the basis of jee mains,jee advance,and architecture aptitude test.if i wiil tell you about my course our course prepares us well about real world applications .we makes plan ,section,elevation of building.there is a myth about architecture that after taking architecture we wiil have to do drawing but there is nothing like this.if we consider about the toughness level of our course our course is quite hectic.we generally sleep at night after 2 am because of so many work.so there should be change in curriculum so that we can sleep earlier.if i will talk about the exam there are two semester every year one is mid semester and other is end semester.these both semester occurs at a interval of one and a half month and difficulty level of exam is moderate.so only thing that i want to tell you please take architecture if you have interest in it othewise don't take it.
Internships Opportunities :
as i am now in just second year i have not tried for any internship opportunities i am just learning the skill to get internship.i am learning skills like c++ and java because i want to sit in non core placement and internship.
Placement Experience :
In my course from the 9th semester, student are eligible for campus placements. The companies that are coming in iit kharagpur are Google,microsoft etcin recent year there are total of 1430 offers came in iit kharagpur.the highest package for the year 2023-24 is 1 crore 64 lakhs to the student of the Department of Computer Science and engineering. about 80 to 90 percent of the student get placed every year in iit kharagpur if there is no recession. My plans after getting my degree is to take either placement or preparation for upsc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
if i wiil tell you about the total tution fee of our course it is 1,54,000 that we wiil have to pay in one time.in which the total tution fees is 1 lacs and mess fees is 14,500 and the rest is service fee.the scholarship that i am getting is merit cum mean in which i am getting total amount of 12,000 whicc is on the basis of my cgpa.tiil know as ia m in second year i have not taken any employment with the help of college.currently i am the associate member of society which is helping student in the preparation of upsc.
Campus Life :
there are two annual fest of iit kharagpur one is spring fest and other is kshitij these are considered as asias biggest fest.these fest occurs in the month of january every year.for the book availabilty there isa library called as central library in iit kharagpur which is asias biggest library.all the facilities are provided in the classroom all the classroms are fully ac.for extracurricular activities there are different societies and clubs are there to enhanc your skill.for example if you are interseted in doing comedy there is a club called comc is there .if you are interested in singing there is a club called prabah is there to enhance your singing skill.
Hostel Facilities :
if I will consider the rooms of iit Kharagpur all the rooms are well furnished and well designed three students can be accommodated in one room. the quality of meals provided in the hostel is also quite good. The registration process for a hostel is done through erp. In my case I have taken a hostel for my residence.
Admission :
There are three exams that I have given for opting for my course jee mains, jee advance, and Architecture Aptitude test.jee mains and jee advance are conducted by jee and after qualifying jee advance we will have to give an architecture aptitude test which generally occurs after the declaration of jee advance result. The Jee Mains and jee advance are of mcq type examinations and the architecture aptitude test is a written examination. If we consider about the toughness level of all these exams among the jee advanced examination is quite tougher than other two exams.there is no requirement for improvement in the admission process.
Faculty :
basically, if I tell you about faculty to student ratio the strength of our class is 40 and there are 25 students in our class. There is a good system in iit along with the professor, there are ta that is called teaching assistants who are there to help the students along with the professors. The approachability with the profs is quite easy. They are easily available whenever we want. In my case, our basic design professor is Arjun Mukherjee who is quite helpful and easily accessible. All the faculty members are well-qualified and having experience of more than 20 years in their field.
