  • It is necessary to study at least three subjects from PCMB for first three years

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curicculum is considered one of the most flexible curricula in the country. But, till the end of second semester we need to study many subjects which is quite hard for someone like me who is only interested and focussed on a particular subject. The subject is taught by experts in the respective fields in the country. Some courses are too easy for us with basic and memory based questions in the exams which can be improved. The frequency of the exams depends on the course instructor but typically we have an exam every two weeks for every subject on average.

Internships Opportunities :

I am still a fresher but, according to the data I have, there are good internship opprtunitites with government organisations like ISRO, BARC, DRDO etc. and also with other private organisations like TATA industries, INFOSYS etc.

Placement Experience :

Most of the students after completing four years, continue to stay here to get Masters degree after one more year and pursue PhD from world renowned institutions. Very few people (<7/100) per batch will sit for campus placements and most of them will be selected with a good annual package of 30000 at an average. Some students, mostly Physocs majors can give government exams like ICRB, GATE to join ISRO and BARC as scientists

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tution fees is quite less and does not increase that much. It costs around 4 lakhs to complete the course (including tution, hostel and mess charges). 99 percent of students get a scholarship of 60000/- per annum (people who do not get it is the ones who failed in the semester in the previous year and can renew it next year) which is either from INSPIRE/IISc Promotional Scholarship. There are no major employment opportunitites that I have undertaken since I am just going to seciond year now.

Campus Life :

There are quite a good number of fests happening every year like Pravega, Rhapsody, etc.. The campus is soo green and the infrastructure is also good. It is located in Bengaluru which makes the climate soo good. There is a main library JRD Tata Memorial Library which has wide range of books and journals also with access to e-content. Labs are quite good and have very good equipment Sports are really good and we have atleast one event with sports every month. We also participate in the Inter IISER Sports Meet every year There are many clubs with a set of clubs called ASCEND mainly focussed on research along woth other clubs for sports and literature. They are a good source of recreation.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are good with basic aminities like water, electricity, house-keeping, bed, study-table and chairs. The ventillation is good in most of the rooms and new hostels are being built to accomodate 2000-4000 more people. Mess food is really tasty and healthy. Hostels are quite affordable with fees ranging from 6000-7500 per month including room, mess, all other aminities.

Admission :

Eligibility Should have passed 12th class or similar examination with Mathematics and two of Physics/Chemistry/Biology with 60% marks. Should have qualified atleast one of JEE Mains/ JEE Advanced/ KVPY(not there since last year)/ IAT/NEET in the year of admission These exams are held once every year. Difficulty level IAT

Faculty :

The faculty-to-student ratio is pretty good. Most of the faculty are reachable and chill. They put more stress on learning the subject than getting good grades. Most of the faculties are from reputed universities across the world.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For someone who wants to give IIT-JAM. The cirruculum is not up to the mark . There are many things that one needs ro study on their own when it comes to biotechnology. Exams are taken after 3 months or so with tests in between. They have his ritual if I must say of asking students to summarise the last day's lecture.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i choose the course with interest and only that will help in survival as choosing it without interest would certainly not be a good choice whatever course it is A little more improvements are expected from the college side hoping to see it soon

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had a keen interest in Music and everything else revolving around it. And because of that I had self taught myself a couple of things regarding this field and that sparked an interest in me. And that ultimately lead to me picking this course. Everything on the curriculum aligned with what I either knew from the get go or things that I was keen to study about. They could definitely make the course way better if they made it more practical than theoretical. The frequency of exams is actually fine and not that tiresome.

Placement Experience:

The placements take place at the end of bsc and MSC, it happens over a span of week where students have to show case their work done for given time period, based on their work different various firms will consider hiring them on their team. The companies visiting are Tata, Harman, foley designs, Daimler, hai etc. The highest package offered is 24lakh pa, and almost 100% students get placed. My plans after getting the degree is joining a firm and getting experience and then pursuing masters.

Placement Experience:

There are placements in the campus. Placements are for the 8th sem students of B.Sc.B.Ed. and B.A.B.Ed. and for 12 th sem students of M.Sc.Ed. and 4th sem for B.Ed. and M.Ed. students. Around 25-30 schools come for placements and they offer around 40000-45000 for TGT and 45000-50000 for PGT. Most of the 12th sem students take placements and even B.Ed. and M.Ed. students take placements. But 8th sem students go for higher studies. I am planning for doing my masters after getting the degree.
