Dislikes

Gender Imbalance, IIT Kharagpur has a skewed gender ratio, with a significantly higher number of male students compared to female students. Kharagpur the town where IIT is located is relatively remote compared to other major cities in India.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum in IIT Kharagpur is widely regarded as relevant and comprehensive providing students with a well rounded education that prepares them for success in their chosen career. However it's worth noting that the effectiveness of the curriculum may vary depending on individual preferences.

Class Size : 170Course Fees : INR 150000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Many companies come to campus to provide summer internships for many roles like SDE, Data, Consult, Product, Finance. And many research internships are also provided at campus by many well-known professors.

Placement Experience :

From completeing 6th semester for Btech students and 8th semester for Dual degree students they are eligible for placements. More than 70 companies visited for placements giving around 1500 offers totally.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Tution Fee: 1 Lakh per semester Hostel and Mess fees and others: around 45 thousand per semester There are several scholarships, but MCM(Merit cum Means is most famous one and is provided to many students) MCM Scholarship:1000/ month and Reimbersement of Complete tuition fee For application of MCM one should maintain 7+ SGPA in every semester and has income less than 4lakhs

Campus Life :

Campus is vast with around 2100 acres covering it. With many facilities for both curricular and extra curricular activities and there are many fests conducted every year. Two of them are Springfest and Ksitikj

Hostel Facilities :

There are around 19 hostels in IIT Kharagpur with facility of single rooms, double sharing rooms and triple sharing rooms. And unlimited wifi is provided and food quality is not bad adjustable. Hostel is allotted to you by management

Hostel Fee : INR 45000 per year

Admission :

JEE Mains and Advance are the entrance exams to be appeared for getting seat in IIT Kharagpur. There are cut off ranks for different branches.Admission process is not that heavy. It will be mostly in online.

Faculty present in IIT Kharagpur are well trained and have good research profiles, they play crucial role in shaping academic and professional trajectory of the students. The are very Interactive and experienced.

Review on Guru Nanak Institute of Technology from one year of college experience

Placement Experience:

Recession is going on since last few years and being a private college obviously that has affected placements in our college also. The current situation of placement is not really good. Among students from all branches which each may have like 150 students, only 20 something got placed on campus. It is said that companies like TCS, Capegemini, Wipro, Amazon, Zscaler etc comes to campus for hiring but most just come and don't hire. This year highest package was 26.5 lakhs by only 2 students from our department, CSE.

After 6 semester you will be eligible for on campus placement. But you can get internship offers earlier. The companies visited last year are Deltax, TCS research, zscalar, yellow class. Total 51 oncampus companies came last year. Highest package- 32lpa Avg package- 11.47lpa Last year placement percentage was 88.9% My plans after the degree are higher studies and masters.
