    Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is quite different from all other engineering colleges, it is highly job oriented and real time technological aspects. This course on comparison with other institute courses prepares you really well for real world applications and further academic pursuits. Unlike every engineering colleges in India, IIITK does not have chemistry physics and biology during the first year it directly jumps on to the technical subjects and personality development subjects. There is one mid semester exam and one end semester exam along with lab exams before the end semester exams, regular quizzes and viva.

    Internships Opportunities :

Internship placement is done after sem 6 and sem 5, in campus internship placements are petty decent with stipends from 15,000 to 50,000 per month. Last 2 semesters will be more of a project and real life application based, which includes internal internships offered by institute and research paper publications.

    Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The complete cost of the course is around 14,83,000. There is tuition fee hike every year. No scholarship is provided by the Institute, students can apply for private and government scholarship and the college is ready to assist the student for application and procedure.

    Campus Life :

There are several clubs to join and grow your social and extra co-curricular skills, campus life is very amazing as the campus lies on a hill with a very scenic view on every corner of the campus. We have annual technical fest every year called APOORV, onam fest called AARAVAM, Freshers fest called ADAVYA, Intra sports Fest called PRADHVA, and many other fests on special occasions almost every month. College classrooms have air conditioning and digital screen teaching methods with several screens across the room for easier visibility. The library is open everyday except Sundays till 10pm, You can access the library anytime and borrow books for a period of 14 days. There is a e-Library provided by the institute with all the magazines and books available on the website. Sports and extra-curricular activities is not much focused by college but students can go and play in the college grounds and courts or practice their extra co-curricular activities whenever they want.

    Hostel Facilities :

Some rooms are of double occupancy and some rooms are of triple occupancy, enough space for luggage and 2 storage space(almirah) is also provided one desk and a chair for each student. Mess meal quality is not really good, don't expect much from mess food, menu on the other hand is very diverse. Rice and roti is always available with many options of curry. Hostel fees is 28,000 per semester. The hostel for first semester students/ freshers is assigned outside campus. Construction of more hostels are going on, soon freshers will also have hostels in campus.

    Admission :

The cutoff for joining Indian Institute of Information technology was 97 percentile in jee mains or around 34000 rank, the admission process was really smooth and they proveded eith hostel room on the first day.

    Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually the university curriculum is bit old fasion.Like the technology is a way head of the things that we are studying in the sessions. But the basis are well learned from it.The improvement we need in that is that to get out of the instituion as a proffesional that can handle the new technolgy that the real world work in.The curriculum is need to improve so much as per the technology improves the students want to know what all changes that are happening in the real world and they want to be trained according to that.

The Semester exams are tough. Electronics and biomedical engineering is a growing field that offers high chances to students in the future. I like how technology and medicine are totally different and we can join this way.

    Placement Experience:

In the 7th and 8th semesters, the students become eligible for campus placements. Infosys, and Spyridian, are the companies that often come for placements .3 -4 lakhs is the highest package given by these companies. The percentage of students getting placement is about 50-70. My plan is to go for higher studies or to go for a job.

I studied computer science in 12th standard. But i have no interest in it. So i choose mechanical engineering in btech. Its a good course and offers many knowledge to students. I thas great scope. The gap between exams is too short so studying is difficult

    Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards we could attend placement interviews and many companies used to approach our college but mostly IT companies as I was in civil dept the construction companies were very less or NIL. In our batch, most of the students got placed and many offer letters but the only disadvantage was the offers were not from the core companies.
