Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum involves all the courses, be it managerial technical, which will be required by management candidates once they join the industry. The reason why I chose this course is because I was aligned towards supply chain management, and this was the best institute for Supply Chain management in the country. The curriculum has a Trimester system with 3 Modules each year. The Curriculum provides a case-based study, which is quite helpful in getting knowledge about industrial problems and how to overcome these problems or how to find these solutions. Although the Curriculum is quite comprehensive, sometimes it feels like it is quite lengthy having 12 subjects in a module. The teaching methodology involves equal weightage to class participation. The exams are moderately difficult, but exams have too many subjects, which must be reduced to decrease the burden on students

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The college provides 100% internship opportunities. Placement committees call companies of different domains and provide student with opportunities to pursue the internship with the company of their interest.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college provides placement assistance and gives 100% placement assistance. There is a dedicated committee for placements responsible for calling all the companies and discussing the compensation with them. The highest package offered is 70 lakhs per annum, and the average package is 27 lakhs per annum. A variety of companies visit campus, including companies from Consulting, Finance, HR, Marketing and Supply Chain profiles. I am planning to get a placement from college and pursue my corporate life in my area of interest.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee when I was admitted to IIM Mumbai was Rs 15 Lakhs for the whole course. The fees can be paid in 4 instalments, 2 in each year. The fees include hostel fees and other miscellaneous fees but it does not include Mess fees. The College provide various scholarships, including provided by state and financial scholarships for SC, SC and OBC candidates. The alumni committee also offers financial assistance based on the performance of the candidates. The college also provides scholarship assistance through the National Scholarship Portal which is given by Central Government.

Campus Life

5

The campus is quite good, the campus is quite greenish and provides various facilities to the students, including outdoor games facilities and others. The college celebrates all the festivals from all cultures. There is a Cultural Committee in the college which is responsible for organizing and celebrating all festivals. The library is quite big with all the journals, datasets and books provides in the central library. The Classrooms are equipped with state of the art infrastructure with projectors and speakers in the Classrooms. The college is a student-run campus with various committees responsible for various works in the college.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel provides a double sharing room with furniture, and it has common washrooms. There is a lift available, and there are 2 messes on campus, which students can choose, and students can choose the mess they wish. The meal quality is quite good and provides healthy, nutritious food 4 times a day, and the menu consists of food from all the localities and offers great variety.

Admission

The admission process for IIM Mumbai consists of Various steps. The first step involves taking the CAT Entrance Exam and filling out the form for IIM Mumbai generally revolves around the 98-99 percentile, with weightage given to academic performance in 10th, 12th, graduation and previous work experience. After filling out the form for IIM Mumbai, which has an application fee of Rs 1000, the form floats after the CA5T results are published. The institute follows all Central Reservation policies. They provide a shortlist of candidates based on the cutoff and then provide the interview dates and mode of interview. The interview revolves around some HR questions as well as questions from an academic background and General knowledge. Overall Experience for the admission was quite pleasant, with assistance provided by the Admission Committee from time to time.

Interview Experience

4.5

The admission Interview involved only a Personal Interview. There were no Group Discussions or Written Tests involved in the process. The process involved filling out the application form, and then the college gives a shortlist of candidates eligible for interview based on the cutoff of the CAT Exam. The placement opportunity is great, but you have to maintain a good grade with zero backlogs. The campus placement cell offers multiple opportunities, but mostly students from the Engineering department got the highest LPA rather than other specialisations.

Placements are good, during our batch it was pretty low because of the recession and other economic parameters. In MBA mostly the companies come for marketing jobs so mostly the jobs offered was sales, but as the college has became university i think every process has been changed and could result in good placement.

Remarks:

College is almost good .this for those who want only masters but no placement .if you also want to get placed in any company need only degree ur welcome. The management is worst the nonteaching staff doesn't know how to talk with students especially the admission office. I here declare whatever I have seen and suffered I presented my view about this college to you, not it's your choice to go to heaven like symbiosis or choose hell. I was misguided and helpless so I came here means I got fewer marks in a snap so please students appear for snap sincerely.
