Course Curriculum Overview :

The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, is renowned for its comprehensive curriculum that blends theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing students for real-world challenges in the field of architecture. One of the specific aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is its emphasis on interdisciplinary learning. The program integrates various subjects such as structural engineering, environmental studies, urban planning, and design aesthetics, providing a holistic understanding of architecture. This multidisciplinary approach not only enriches the learning experience but also equips students with versatile skills essential for modern architectural practice. Moreover, the B.Arch at BIT, Mesra, places significant emphasis on hands-on learning through design studios, workshops, and site visits.

Placement Experience :

BIT Mesra boasts robust placement opportunities, commencing from the sixth semester. Renowned companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and Accenture visit, offering diverse roles in IT, consulting, and core engineering. The highest package offered reaches ?20 LPA, while the average package ranges between ?6-8 LPA. Around 85-90% of students secure placements annually. Post-degree, I aim to pursue a career in architectural design, aiming for roles in reputed firms to apply my skills and contribute to innovative projects.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

BIT Mesra offers various scholarships, financial aid, and campus employment opportunities to support students financially. The tuition fee increase policy entails periodic hikes, with rates subject to review. The total cost of education includes tuition, service fees, and other compulsory charges, varying annually. Scholarships like Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, SC/ST Scholarships, and Freeship Schemes provide financial assistance. Additionally, campus employment opportunities, like internships in architecture firms, offer stipends, such as the firm in Delhi, which provided ?12,000 per month.

Campus Life :

BIT Mesra offers a vibrant campus life enriched with diverse social activities and robust infrastructure. Annual festivals like "BITOTSAV" (March) and technical events like "PANTHEON" (September) foster creativity and intellectual growth. The library boasts a wide range of books and journals, ensuring accessibility to valuable resources. Classrooms are equipped with modern facilities and technology, enhancing the learning experience. The campus provides ample sports facilities and extracurricular activities, promoting holistic development. Student-run clubs and groups contribute significantly to the social fabric, fostering camaraderie and personal growth. Overall, BIT Mesra provides a dynamic environment conducive to holistic student development.

Hostel Facilities :

At BIT Mesra, the hostel facility offers comfortable accommodation with essential amenities like beds, study tables, and cupboards. Rooms typically include fans, lights, and charging points. The meal quality in the mess is decent, with a varied menu catering to different dietary preferences. Hostel registration is straightforward, and are affordable. For those opting for rented accommodation in nearby localities like Vastu Vihar or other PGs, facilities vary, but rents are generally reasonable.

Admission :

The admission was primarily through JoSAA and NATA scores for architecture. CSAB also provides additional seats after the JoSAA counselling rounds are done. Candidates taking the exam must pass 10+2 or 10+ diploma with mathematics as a subject. They must then clear JEE Main paper 2 to pursue B.Arch. JEE Main paper 2 and NATA are conducted twice every year. NATA is easier compared to JEE main paper 2. The dates, procedures and all other important information can be found on NTA's official website (for JEE Main paper 2) and COA's website (for NATA).

Architecture is an application based course here you learn through practically given tasks and you are supposed to clear it. Overall it is a good course if you are hardworking and interested in construction. Keep in mind that not everything will be fed to you. You are supposed to learn as much as possible from your side as well

Basically, I am the kind of person dedicated to building and going for the design field. senior faculty are amazing and have good experience and technical skills which are very beneficial. For the design process, we generally get from faculty and also little competition is generated which is beneficial. talking about placement we generally get the link that are used, senior and faculty help to get placement and internship too
