Course Curriculum Overview :
nitc is highly regarded for it academic accolades amd its curriculum. my course is considered to have a hectic curriculum. the teachers are all highly qualified. we have exams twice per semester- midsems and endsems. the level of difficulty of certain subjects is high, and it requires us to study hard even to pass the subject.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
the fee per semester is actually about Rs. 1,25,000/- . however, they provide fee concessions on the basis of family income. students having yearly family income of less than 5 lakhs have to pay only 1/4 th pf the total amount. and those with income less than 1 lakh do not have to pay the tution fee. all students are allowed to apply for any one private or public scholarship per academic year.
Campus Life :
we have a technical fest name "tathva'' which is usually held in october or november. and our cultural fest "ragam" is usually held in march. but this year both our fests were cancelled due to various internal conflicts. our library is open for all till midnight and all books are available for all. the facilities in our classes are mediocre. we just a projector and speakers. the campus life here is pretty rich with various cultural and sports activities happening now and then.
Hostel Facilities :
the hostels of nitc are all old buildings with just decent facilities, except for the recently built mega hostels. the messes are just fine, they provide a rather balanced diet. registration process is hassle free. the hostel and mess fees pbserved a hike in this academic year, which is a little pver the top considering the facilities.
Admission :
we had to qualify the jee mains entrance exam. we were then requided to go through the allotment process using the site 'josaa'. we could apply for any njmber pf courses and institutes. we were then allotted the highest preference course that we were qualified for with our jee rank. the cutoff for nitc was pretty high last year compared to earlier year. for ece, the cutoff came above 98 percentile.
